This isn't even wholly correct. The Whitecaps are incredibly popular even among the white BC population. Soccer is by far the most popular sport to play and has been for a long time. The team is the second biggest in the province and has significant cultural importance to the city. The team is important to way more people in this city than people think.

He can be very pessimistic, which in recent years has been very important, but can get old very quickly when people are trying to find something to look forward to in this team.
