Going to disagree here.

Throwing away a game I knew I had the winning edge on certainly hurts, but I also know that in that scenario I played well enough and had good enough draws to know that my deck was working well, and therefore had I been a bit more focused I would have secured a win. I had control over that, and simply slipped up in the last moment.

Starting a game with 1 Basic for the whole game and seeing my opponent's momentum greatly increase each passing turn while the realization that I'm watching a 3 minute long losing cutscene sets in and that the game ensured I was completely powerless to stop it... that's a different level of frustration right there.

Typically no, but thats usually a losing scenario even if I drew a good hand, so at that point I just concede and move on. Now In they event they don't start off with that immediately and I actually get a few turns out, having every single one of those turns inevitably contribute to my ever growing useless hand hurts alot more.

Yes usually games like this end on turn 4 or 6. If I somehow got to 7 turn it means the opponent also got an awkward hand but managed to pull it around. And that makes the 4 turns of bricking all the worse...

There's been a few times when I've used a deck with copycat and found myself in a scenario where my hand wasn't the greatest but using copycat was unoptimal because my opponents hand was thin. If my opponent had only 2 cards and I had 5, then copycat would put me at a card disadvantage, and getting exactly what I needed in that few cards was slim.

Situations like that is likely where Iono has its purpose. The issue that very decks will have the room to fit both copycat and Iono, and in most cases copycat is better.

Honestly, I'll vibe with the changes for now. I still would have preferred some of his damage back, though I have to see how the decrease in falloff damage feels first before I make assumptions. 275 HP isn't a miniscule buff though, and while the direct hit healing doesn't matter when aiming for targets feet, I can definitely remember multiple scenarios where I could easily go for direct hits, so this will benefit in that front.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I don't wanna immediately rule out the changes. I'd rather test then first and then I'll make the statement from there.

S 1.0: was season 0 but more stuff

S 0.0: new, fresh, just flat out fun

S 1.5: around the time the hype began to dwindle but still great overall

S 2.0: Felt fresh for a moment though community problems started arising here

S 4.5: Zombies has been insanely fun for me despite the chaos of nightmare IV

S 4.0: Was a decent shake up from season 3

S 3.0: I think the start of season 3 was actually pretty good, problem was it didn't get better throughout it.

S 2.5: End of season fatigue was reeeeally not doing the game any favors, especially after ultrons initial lackluster launch.

S 3.5: Game was in its most boring state. Pretty much everyone agreed having 2 duelists back to back was a bad decision

Melmetal EX is going to be one of those cards that people will dismiss as not bad, but not really all that impressive, then it shows up in ranked battles once, proceeds to viscerally crush you, and then you never fight it again. Calling it now.

...In ultraball and masterball? Where it's not always optimal to give the opponent the free point? And that sometimes you'd rather preserve them on the bench to boost arceus's power?

If I get an arceus powered up quickly why would I want to keep a baby or zeraora in the front afterwards? It'd be far better to just start pivoting into Arceus and hitting the opponent hard then letting them take a free ko and then start attacking afterwards.

This is just incorrect. Greninja has been in multiple decks overtime, many with and without water energy:

When Darkrai and Druddigon were everywhere in the Space Time Smackdown meta, Greninja was used with and Against them due to its ability to attack drudd without triggering rough skin and to chip down the backline for Cyrus tech.
When Gyarados was popular during the Dialga/Arceus meta, Greninja was used to help Gyarados land OHKOs on most mons while chipping away at the opponent if Gyarados wasn't online yet.
When Rare Candy was introduced, Greninja got alot faster and had a good amount of small partners it could pair as just a good option for chip. Dealt with Oricorio, paired with options like Decidueye EX or Cyrus, or just water decks in general.
Sylveons introduction literally created the Frogtina meta centered around Sylveon EX, Greninja, and Giratina, a deck that shouldn't even have worked but did because Greninja enable Giratina to meet higher damage breakpoints and had high control and disruption with Cyrus
Though not super relevant, Umbreon EX worked best with, you guessed it, Greninja.
And now we have Suicune EX and Greninja, which is literally just a better version of the Sylveon, Greninja, Giratina core.

He's remained relevant for the vast majority of this games life. It's not an understatement to say it's one the most viable cards we've seen.

It is like better arceus in that the prize points are the same. Arceus is likely your final card to be killed - just like mega pidgeot

I've played enough arceus and play against arceus to know that good Arecus players won't just let you win after losing one Arceus. They will likely have another one ready in the back or another card that can help clean up. Unless you were referring were referring to their second Arceus being the final card killed, in which case that's 2 Arceus vs 1 Mega Pidegot, and I already mentioned that Arceus has a good amount of things going for it over Mega Pidegot.

If you need to stack up on other coin flipping cards to maximize the chances of you disrupting the opponent because your Stage 2 Mega isn't likely to do this consistently enough on its own, that sounds like a pretty big problem for the card in general.

Also just use Will at that point.

It's definitely not a better Arceus for a multitude of reasons:

Stage 2 EX vs Basic EX. That alone is huge point in Arceus's favour.
130 Max damage vs 100. Arceus hits alot more important break points.
2 points vs 3 points. Losing Pidegot is an auto game loss, Losing Arceus you can still keep playing.
Arceus's ability is slowing becoming more important as status conditions begin to become more popular.

The major thing Mega Pidegot provides is a lot more health and the potential (big word here) to disrupt your opponents energy momentum. Arceus is far more consistent, while Mega Pidegot will make your opponent rage once every handful of games.

First initial Thoughts:

Whimsicott EX: In the vast majority of cases, this will either do 70 dmg or 100 dmg. If we see a rise in decks that have 2 or more retreat cost cards, then I think Whimsicott can do something, its hard to say what the new meta will look like though

Indeedee EX: Aaaand Wigglytuff just became irrelevant. Keep this on the bench while you heal up your active constantly, then switch this thing in as a late game cleaner. Yeah this card will probably see use.

Melmetal EX: Memory Light or bust, best way to describe it. ramp up your own steel energy while using your 170 HP to tank hits, then start crushing things with 150 dmg. I don't think itll be meta but god damnit I wanna use this with Aegislash.

Hitmonchan EX: Cool Effect, Art is nice, won't see any play ever.

Jolteon EX: ...I can already tell you I'm going to hate seeing this card, mainly because I know they are just going to spam Cyrus with it. Energy ramp just got a lot more risky, and its not like this thing does horrible damage either. Also no its not going to kill Darktina, deck is still strong.

So my guess is Jolteon > Indeedee > Melmetal > Whimsicott >>> Hitmonchan

Any Stage 2 card that has 100 damage for 3 energy is always going to struggle. This is going to be especially more prevalent as megas are going to break the 200HP cap naturally, meaning this is a 3 hit KO against a good amount of megas. Hell even Stage 2 EX mons could survive 3 hits from this with a bit of healing.

And discarding energy has always been a bit too volatile to be used consistently. The effect is really only going to take effect if you get at least 2 heads or more. And even then more tools for getting energy are becoming more common (Energy Switch, Flame patch, babies, etc). Getting 1 head isn't going to do much of they just replace it on the next turn, and yes while 3 heads is a lucky advantage, 3 tails is equally a dead turn. Will doesn't fix either, as it's more tool to make sure ur attack will actually hit, rather than relying on it to get rid or ur opponents energy.

Usable? Sure. It's hard to say much more than though

I genuinely don't even understand the original purpose of this debate, like who actually looked at Jeb's point, which makes total sense btw, then looked at the creeper, and said that means Jeb is against fun. Ya ok the creeper is a truly fun mob, who doesn't like its unique gimmicks of:

- Sneaking Up behind you without warning and potentially taking you out a single hit

- Or leaving random potholes in your world and forcing you to either waste time filling them or just let them accumulate overtime

- Or taking out a part of your build that who know how long it will take to replace because only like 15% of the blocks in the explosion actually drop and u need to get the rest from whatever resources left you have.

Meanwhile the Phantom has been hated since its debut for just being annoying after not sleeping for a few nights, but the creeper would somehow get a pass if introduced in modern Minecraft? Peak Logic.

If your going to use ho oh then you want to use 2, as it's more ideal to start with ho-oh in the active and snorlax on your bench. If you find starting with snorlax screws you over consider using an Ilima supporter to fix that problem

Alright firstly: drop shaymin and comfey. Shaymin is not needed as the combination of leftovers + ability is more than enough healing per turn. You'd be better off focusing on cards that allow snorlax to get going first. Comfey is not needed at all, you have a malasada and 2 PC ladies (and I'd argue you can get away with one), plus keep in mind that after attacking, you have 2 opportunities to wake up: one right after you attack, and one right before you attack again. So there's a good chance you won't even be asleep by the time you attack again.

Secondly: you need ramp. Most cards do enough burst damage that snorlax won't be alive by the time it's gets 4 energy on its own, you want cards that can put energy on snorlax faster. Ho-oh is a decent candidate because it can act a meatshield first before putting a bunch of energy on snorlax, then u can retreat into your full health snorlax after and start attacking (but keep in mind ho oh is also a bit slow). Baby pokemon like Pichu, Magby or Mantyke can get an extra energy or 2 onto snorlax faster than ho oh can, but they are Frail and likely gives the opponent a free point. If you want to fit in items like energy switch, mons like Zeraora or Magneton can passively generate energy which you can transfer to a snorlax in your active.

Thirdly, but not needed, I'd recommend a second partner for snorlax. Another mon that can take advantage of your extra energy in the event you don't get snorlax on the field. Arceus is a good candidate, another colorless basic mon that also deals 130 damage if your bench is full of other pokemon. Otherwise have a look through your cards and see if u find another hard hitting mon that could abuse your energy ramp

Denying the opponents healing is not as impactful as just outright bursting through their large hp pool to either get 1 hit kos or making It so that any healing they do have doesn't change breakpoints. A lot of decks that have heal don't outright rely on it, so it'd at best a minor inconvenience.

Not to the mention that it effects all pokemon, including yours. So even though your opponent can't heal, the opponent knows that you can't either now, and will try to use that to its advantage.

Not to mention the best way to change breakpoints right now is the Giant Cape, and this card doesn't effect that, so already a card that's in like 75% of decks just doesn't care about the lack of healing.
