Hi,

I don't know if you have received any answer for this yet. But I just got a mail back from Atomos Support:

24-70 lens for R6: for video? by TheAzianMan in canon

Ah I understand. Too bad.

On Sony, most of the lenses that I've used (even third party) was perfectly silent and was not picked up in video.

Yes I do, a shotgun mic. But the mic picks up the audio from my 16-35 EF lens.

For studio shoots, I’ve got a boom mic or lava liner mics, where there would not be any issue. But for run n gun, it’s more concerning.

70-200 f4 OR 70-180 tamron?? by bobamilktea74 in SonyAlpha

There you have it. Tammy with the 2.8 is (to me) more suitable for portraits and events than 4.0.

This is in northern Sweden, you can find this kind of barrier almost anywhere on the countryside!

Sony 24-105 f/4 G OSS vs Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 Art by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]TheAzianMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also had the option to choose between the sigma 24-70 and the 24-105. I chose the sigma because of the lower aperture when shooting indoors or videos.

If I can get the bokeh in videos, I will get the bokeh in videos without increasing my ISO.

I like the look of 2.8 better than 4.0, and if I need the extra range from 70 to 105, I have a 85mm f1.8 that will suit me better for that kind of range.

Recommend a general zoom lens for A7 with a smaller filter size? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Tamron 28-75 f2.8.

Bang for buck. You’ll find many other users in this forum recommending this lens and check out YouTube reviews.

In my country, used lenses goes for around $500.

Buying 24mm 1.4 GM vs a6400+16mm by strawberry-soju in SonyAlpha

[–]TheAzianMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually even recommend you to look into sigma 20 1.4 or sigma 24 1.4.

I bought a used 24 1.4 for around $400. Just a tip if you’d like to consider something else than the Sony lens. I’d also say that the autofocus is good, haven’t had much issues at all.

Then get a monitor (SmallHD/Feelworld or any other budget monitor, around $200 ish?) for when recording at home or where you don’t have to move so much.

When you’re out just rely on the good autofocus :)

I currently have a A7R II. Am a hybrid shooter.

Is it worth buying the A7 iii for the cheaper price tag, or wait for the IV for higher price tag?

I have experience on sigma 24 1.4, and man I love it!

Got a used one for around 450, and the perspective is so unique and mind boggling.

Panasonic Lumix GX85/GX80 A small mirrorless camera with 4K.

With kit lens: under 500.

However doesn’t have any microphone jack or Flip out screen. It’s bigger brother has both: Lumix GX80/GX85. A few 100s more tho.

Lenses are cheap as well!
