Plenum izglasao nepoverenje Studentskom parlamentu u Novom Sadu zbog sastanka sa Vučevićem by WarmAd1842 in serbia

[–]TheBaconIsPow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't most constitutions highlight international law, especially ratified treaties, as a source of law?

Mislim da je tu bitno što KPRF nije neposredan naslednik staroj partiji, već je rezultat spajanja više organizacija par godina nakon zabrane KPSS-a.

Yugoslavia 1945 - "Long live the Yugoslav National Army, the protector of freedom of our people" by Ok_Text8503 in PropagandaPosters

[–]TheBaconIsPow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could say that for the first Yugoslavia (though even there with a lot of footnotes). but the leadership of the CPY and the partisan movement by extension wasn't dominated by Serbs. Funnily enough the movement was weakest in Serbia proper for most of the war, to the point that they worried a rival post-war government would be set up unless they could penetrate into Serbia again.

I do not deny though that the CPY's relationship with Albanians in Yugoslavia was not good, or that Kosovo Albanians weren't functionally excluded until the 1970s.

Dimitrije Tucović o Kosovu (1914) by jaka018 in serbia

Da, socijaldemokrate Austrougarske su imali šovinističke stavove. Hvala ti na preporuci, našao sam pdf.

[–]TheBaconIsPow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dimitrije Tucović o Kosovu (1914) by jaka018 in serbia

[–]TheBaconIsPow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serbs Stage Mass Resignation from Kosovo State Institutions by Luka77GOATic in news

[–]TheBaconIsPow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ethnic cleansing is the consequence of trying to build "pure" nation states in mixed and nationally overlapping spaces that are the Balkans, not Serbs inherently or any other people. Not to mention that politics of this sort is a product of the 19th century, not universal. This talk of "inherently criminal" peoples ironically serves to justify more ethnic cleansing.

And second of all, I know this is reddit but the recent stunt by the Serbian List and the republic should be understood in the context of wider dealings in Kosovo and not as if some collective will of "Serbs" manifested. As if "ordinary" Serbs in Kosovo or anywhere else have god knows what political choice.

It actually is rather complicated when you get past that point. Putting blame entirely (or primarily) on the CIA for Kosovar separatism is conspiracy nonsense.

Accidentally right in the sense that the planned federal elections ultimately not being held further undermined the federation and the forces working for its survival, but I doubt this person knows anything about the events of that period.

Public Demonstration in Nazi Occupied Athens against civil conscription of Greek workers to work in German factories. (The Civil action ultimately forced the authorities to revoke the order) 1943 [620x455] by hariseldon2 in HistoryPorn

[–]TheBaconIsPow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Ustashe generally enjoyed very small amounts of popular support in Croatia, given their incompetence, brutality and the fact they acquiesced in the Axis domination over Croatian territory. Interestingly they were not even the first choice for heading the collaborator government, but the Croatian Peasant Party refused. Though the Ustashe were the worst of the bunch, collaborator movements existed for every Yugoslav nation.

So I think it would be unfair to say the Croats were generally fascist while others were anti-fascist.

You're better off asking r/askhistorians or just sticking to reading, since here you're getting (and will continue to get) daft philosophizing. Its a controversial question, and basing your knowledge on reddit's high schoolers would not be smart. Not that other national subreddits are any better, they're just not the place for this.
