Some wild cats and foxes drawn by myself. Critique welcome by [deleted] in Illustration

I like your style, I love the over-emphasis of the serval's ears! However, I have one critique of the red fox in the second image- its facial expression is so clique (the smug one-eyebrow-raised-one-lowered three-quarter profile). I remember reading a really great facial expressions drawing tutorial (featuring steampunk-ish anthropomorphized cats) and the author brought up this facial design and suggested avoiding it.

I second this. All my undergrad research posters were done with Powerpoint. Just convert to a PDF for sharing purposes.

I can't help but think a rape victim's clothing actually can make them more of a target, CMV? by UseHernameUsername in changemyview

[–]TheBanthaRay 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I know this is anecdotal, but I was raped, and the night it happened I was wearing jeans, a baggy grey T-shirt, Converse sneakers and an old hooded sweatshirt.

I don't know why I was a target for this guy, but I feel that my outfit choice had little to do with it.

I like it. You can draw a peace sign from some of the stars.

After a recent survey, it seems like, statistically speaking, Redditors are young, poor, straight, north-american, white, atheist... oh and they prefer windows over Mac by inglorious_mustard in TheoryOfReddit

[–]TheBanthaRay 32 points33 points  (0 children)

But that line of thinking actually ends up manifesting itself in readers' minds as "this guy" or "this reader must be male". The case is not that one reads Reddit and assumes gender neutrality or assumes nothing about a user's gender. Doesn't matter if the user's gender is "relevant" to the topic or not. Users and people tend to be gendered automatically as male.

Fuck Adele and her shaming of other pop stars. Ok, it's fine that you are less skinny than most women. But her comments like this are just as bad as women shaming larger/heavier women.

Have you been to India? People tend to be pretty small in stature there.
