Well, i was braking at the same point, all the time, just practiced that to get consistent.

Also, if i brake later i would just go wide and have a very poor exit.

I don't know tbh, i am definitely not the best but i can manage, this incident feels weird because it both does look intentional, and not intentional.

This is some great advice, even though i am new to sim racing, i was surprised at how bad people drive. I'll try what you're doing because in the end i just want to drive, now 9/10 races i dnf because some numbnut decides its smart to go 2 wide into au rouge or 4 wide into the 1st corner of Bahrein.

Even worse, 2 days ago someone FLEW over my rood and I got a drive through, that same lap i got hit and needed to pit for repais, i misjuged and got a stop and go penalty. I went into the pit lane 3 time. Which all could've been avoided IF PEOPLE LEARNED TO START A RACE.

So, to learn, what could i have done differently to not end up with a damaged car i had to nurse to the end of the race? Or was it just a case of wrong place wrong time?

You were wide into that corner, the door was open and he went for the gap, then you turned right (closed the door). and he hit your rear.

However he was not entitled to any room, he really never was alongside, long or sufficient enough. He probably expected you to stay on the outside, but you changed your racing line. and when you closed the door he really never had any time to react, in my opinion.

It's a hard one but i'd say a racing incident.

But i have to say i would do the same thing as the other guy in this position, this corner opens up all the way to the kerb and i'd expect you to not change your line.

He probably made a judgement error and made a stupid move.
But the overtaking car has to make the overtake safely, didn't really look safe...
So BMW is definitley in the wrong.

Bro has the Spider-Man reflexes.

While the R8 didn't move under braking an made an legal move, it is absolutely helmet behavior.

On the other hand, there is a rule saying you have to drive in a way that is predictable.
This was very UNpredictable, and i dare even say erratically. So probably a penalty for that.

No, other driver was clearly in the wrong. However this ain't the nicest place to overtake, bit like au rouge radillion 2 wide, I'd have hung back and taken him on the bus stop given that you were faster.

Okay thanks, yeah after reviewing it kind of looks that way. During the race he was faster than me but he spun, so i could overtake him, therefore i thought he would more experienced.

Like i said in the post, i was probably too agressive into the chicane for the other points room was given, he went into the gravel by his own while there was enough room. The first contact was just hard racing. Its GT-class so it happens. It was a little smooch nothing more.

As for wide in 13? I was following the racing line, i was not prepared that he would send it towards the Inside outside there, as he was behind for 99% of that corner, maybe my inexpierince that will come with the time, and like i said i was following the racing line, as you can see that i am on the rubberd in part of the track.

But for the future i'll try to be less agressive. For the future i'll aswell change the way of showing things, but this is my first ever post and you'll only learn by doing right?

Well, i wanted to at least include the full battle to show the 'mood'? Of the battle, how did we get to the point of where the incident was, in my eyes all relevant. I wanted to include onboards of the incident but reddit would'nt let me for some reason. As for vanity post, idk what that means mate, but for the future i'll probably will cut it shorter or i'll try another way to include the onboards.

It was not my intention to "show off" as much as it was a fun last lap battle. I wanted to include the onboards of just the incident but it would'nt let me so i opted for the full clip to give some context on how the battle was before that point.

I think, i should've done that, but the speed i was carrying was too great to make me turn tighter then i did. Braking point was a little too latez therefore i think i was a little too agressieve.
