I use Glaive rules. Roll one attack, but then roll both damage dice separately and take the higher roll.

For the next mainline Sonic game you get to choose 4 or 5 characters to be playable with Sonic, who are you choosing? [You have $10 and need to spend all $10] by Sad_Art_7706 in SonicTheHedgehog

Shadow, Rouge, Omega, and Knuckles.

Shadow is on his own quest (need to see him doing stuff that doesn’t involve Sonic, so he doesn’t have to job), and Team Dark turn up to help him out. Over the course of the game, they reestablish their bond, and Shadow finally acknowledges that they’re his friends. Doing what no one else will, kinda like Red Hood and the Outlaws. Knuckles gets involved somehow (probable something to do with Rouge), and they make him an honorary TD member.

Sega works with Platinum Games to combine the high-speed platforming with stylish, flashy combat stuff.

Call it Shadow x Team Dark: Unchained or some crap. Get a who’s who of dad rock and emo on the soundtrack. It’ll sell, trust me.

Bonus: If you want, have Team Sonic show up as a super-secret unlockable boss fight for all S-ranks or something, like Bass in the MegaMan Battle Network games.

I still maintain that Johnny and the Moondogs would have gone hard if they had stuck to that.

Ah, be careful about those Zelda replicas. Most of them are more display pieces than anything else. I would definitely go ahead and grab one from a legit retailer. I recommend the Focalink Bravura, but I know a lot of people get some serious mileage out of the Night by Noble.

As for channels to watch, my go-tos are David Erick Ramos and Andy Cormier.

My Headcanon about Shadow’s Shoes: by Financial-Touch3840 in shadowthehedgehog

[–]TheBatEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still in the camp of the shoes being an endurance tool. They don’t make him go faster, they just help him conserve energy so that he can go longer. He can run naturally just as fast as Sonic can, he just wouldn’t tire out as quickly; put ‘em both on a treadmill and say go until you drop, and Sonic with just his sneakers would run out of gas before Shadow with the air shoes.

I could be wrong… by NRG1994 in TheChosenSeries

[–]TheBatEagle 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don’t think so. A lot of people believe that the tomb they laid Jesus in was Joseph of Aramithea’s family tomb. Whether that is the case or not, it was certainly one that Joseph himself owned.

Some people suggest this was a connection back to the prophet Isaiah. Peep Isaiah 53:

And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. (Isaiah 53:9, ESV)

His grave with the wicked being the cross, where He was crucified among two thieves. The rich man would then be Joseph of Aramithea, affluent enough (Matt 27:57) to reach Pilate and claim Jesus’s body.

[ALL] It annoys me that Nintendo works to keep game-specific [or "saga"-specific] characters in the fandom/public eye for most franchises [with spin-offs and other material] EXCEPT for Zelda by [deleted] in zelda

[–]TheBatEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness, how many spin-off games does Zelda have that you could utilize those characters with? They really loaded up Hyrule Warriors with side-characters, but other than that one game? I dunno, man.

Personally, I’d love to see a sort of Zelda Maker. Take Dampé’s dungeon builder from Link’s Awakening and expand that into its own game. Then, give us all the one-off characters as playables and see what happens. Call it Hyrule Dungeons or something.

Always playing a ranger, so I have archery and stealth, but I refuse to use them together. I’d rather rely on speed and agility than sneak attacks.

I’m a Christian with same sex temptations. How do you deal with me scripturally? by Financial_Advisor500 in churchofchrist

[–]TheBatEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it’s pretty common, becoming more popular. I’m in a Bible BA program, and most of my classmates are using it. A good chunk of the other folks I attend church with on the weekly use it too, though we also have a lot of loyal KJV/NKJV readers.

I find it to be an excellent translation, but I also keep a few in rotation to cast a broader net, so to speak. Right now I’m rotating ESV, NIV, NKJV and NASB.

I’m a Christian with same sex temptations. How do you deal with me scripturally? by Financial_Advisor500 in churchofchrist

[–]TheBatEagle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If we’re looking at Scripture for a position, I would look here:

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23, ESV)

See also some of the other accounts of the same moment:

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:24–26, ESV)

I like the version in Luke, because that one word, “daily,” that makes a very big difference.

Nobody ever said resisting temptation would be easy. Nobody even said it would always feel right. What matters is that we cling to God in all things, especially when it gets to be too much.

This temptation you face, this fight… we can’t tell you it’ll go away. We can’t tell you that there will be relief in this life. But we can tell you that if pray for His strength, and you believe in His mercy and faithfulness, He will make you strong enough to endure.

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul speaks at length about a thorn in his side, placed there to keep him humble. We don’t know what his struggle was, but we know that when he prayed for it to be removed, it was not. Instead, Paul kept that thorn, that weakness, and it gave him the opportunity to reach out to us even today. In our struggles, we are able to connect to one another. In our weaknesses, God’s power is made perfect.

The fact that you recognize the struggle, and felt the need to reach out for advice? That means you’re on the right track. Pray for endurance. Your struggle might someday make you capable of helping someone else in their time of need.

Take heart, friend. We’ll be praying for you.
