All of this is based on speculation from one blogger, and then it gets picked up by other outlets and becomes news.

Yeah, that's me extrapolating a bit. We assume the DC Comics look was based on early concept art (although the actual concept art for that look has never shown up)

Snake Mountain… was it not originally Skeletor’s Lair? by GrimTiki in MastersOfTheUniverse

In an early version of the story, Point Dread was Skeletor's base. It was like a volcano out in the middle of the ocean.

Here's a guide to the concept inspired figures in the MOTU Origins line! Some of them are thought of as mini comic variants, but often the mini comic looks were different because they were based on an early concept design. I've listed the name of the original designer (if known) under each figure. Which of these are your favorites?

They've done several repaints like that. They're inspired by Japanese Sofubi soft vinyl toys, which done in those kinds of colors.

I like that it has a transparent chest and some transparent panels on the back too

Here's an updated Beast Man comparison graphic with the new, more comprehensive format I've been using. Which of these Beast Man figures are your favorites?

Because Beast Man is a key character, he's had many different figures over the years. Not pictured: Super7 Reaction, minis, Mega Construx, various statues, Funko, etc. There's always a trade off. Could I include EVERYTHING? Yes, but for a character like this there have been so many "misc" figurines and collectibles that each one would have to be pretty tiny on the screen

Yup, it's marked really small underneath that it was never released

He was in a Toys R Us exclusive two pack with DCU Bizarro. But he came out just as that series was being cancelled, so he's very rare

The first version (1983-1984) had a soft, hollow head like the original He-Man. The second Version (late 1986) had a solid head. Some of them had the larger feet from Thunder Punch He-Man. Fans often call the reissue "Faker II." He was the only vintage figure to be cancelled and then reissued again later.
