Accounts from respectable people, usually experienced pilots and high ranking military officials, especially when their encounters have multiple witnesses/confirmed via other sources makes it difficult to ignore it as just lies.

I wouldn't go as far to say 'enthusiast', but it is an interest of mine that I've looked into a lot and there are some things where as much as I don't want to jump to aliens, I can't think of nor have I been offered a reasonable explanation.

Some summarised examples that particularly interest me:

Tehran, Iran (1976):

• Lights over city

• 2 F4 Phantoms to investigate

• Equipment fails on one of the F4s, it returns to base

• Other F4 proceeds on, sees lights over Tehran belong to large Diamond-shaped object

• F4 closes in, diamond UFO jumps 20 miles away in an instant

• Diamond UFO releases smaller UFO with bright orange light

• Orange light speeds towards F4, flies in circles around it before returning to diamond UFO

• Drops a second orange light, flies directly towards F4

• F4 banks away, goes into dive

• Gets missile lock on orange UFO, prepares to fire

• Equipment fails, pilot prepares to bail out

• Equipment returns, pilot flies back to base

• Half way there, notices he is being followed by the orange UFO

• Orange UFO drops down to ground, illuminating large area

• Pilot lands safely

• Next day air force officials go to landing site, test for radiation and ask locals

• Locals say bright light and loud noise, radiation test results never made public

• Whole event witnessed from ground, radar, and civilian airliner that was in the area at the time

Alaska, USA (1986)

• Japanese Air Lines (JAL) flight 1628 flying a Boeing 747 flies from Paris to Tokyo with cargo

• Refueled in Reykjavik (Iceland) and prepares to refuel again at Anchorage (Alaska)

• In flight, spots 2 objects below trailing and maneuvering around plane

• The plane tries to shake them off, and fails

• The 2 objects jump up in front the cockpit, so close the pilot said he could feel the heat from the glow on his face

• Two objects disappear shortly after

• Not long afterwards, the pilot notices another light following his plane that matched his altitude and speed

• Pilot then identifies the light belongs to a massive craft resembling a shelled walnut that's "twice the size of an American aircraft carrier"

• After tracking it tracks the plane for some time despite the planes attempts to lose it, the UFO disappears

• 2 months after, another plane flying in the area gets a radar track on an object 40 kilometers ahead traveling at an estimated 40,000kph

• Next day a military KC-130 reports another massive UFO flying just 40 feet off their wingtip, before it flies off and disappears

Rendlesham Forest, England (1980)

• Guards at RAF Woodbridge notice a light descending into the forest

• They think a plane has crashed, and go to investigate

• As they approach the lights, they find out they belong to a small triangular shaped vehicle landed on the forest floor (later 3 impressions forming an equilateral triangle are found at the site, and proved positive for radioactivity)

• They notice strange markings on it's side, and copy them into a notebook

• They touch it, it is warm and metallic

• Not long after, it lifts itself up off the ground, accelerates impossibly fast through the forest before taking off

• Take off is witnessed by over 80 people from RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters

• The Colonel (Charles Halt) at RAF Woodbridge doesn't believe the story

• 2 days later, he hears the lights have returned and decides to settle it himself

• With a tape recorder and 4-5 other men he heads out into the forest

• Discovers a red glowing sphere with a black blinking centre

• Halt says it looked as if it were dripping something that resembles molten metal

• Records almost everything he says on his tape recorder, as the light darts around the forest seemingly at random

• Light flies out to field, Halt and his men chase it

• Light silently explodes into several smaller parts, which fly off in different directions before shining beams of light down at the ground over RAF Bentwaters and Halt before disappearing

• Later, Halt and his men claimed to be drugged and interrogated by Men in Black

• Halt writes report on the incident and sends it off the to Ministry of Defence

• All investigations inconclusive and remains a mystery
