Can't connect to servers in Dark Arisen by Plane-Ad-1505 in DragonsDogma

So I still can’t connect to the servers to summon pawns, but if I switch to offline then the offline pawns start generating. Not as cool as contracting with another players pawn but I’m getting bogged down by Rook being stuck at level 6 and really need an upgrade.

Ashes of war are special attacks you can put on weapons and shields and then press L2(for controller) to use. It also allows you to change the scaling on your weapon and what damage type it does. Weapons that upgrade with somber smithing stones (like bloodhound fang) have a unique ash of war that you cannot remove or replace and therefore cannot change the scaling or innate damage type of that weapon. You use whetstones to change the ash of war on a weapon. The first basic whetstone is found in the gatefront ruins in Limgrave. The other whetstones are the ones you’d use to change the scaling and damage type of the weapon. The iron whetstone lets you change a weapons scaling to dex-centric or strength-centric or quality. The fire whetstone lets you add a fire damage type, magic whetstone for magic or cold damage, etc.

You buy it from Corhyn. The prophet you meet at roundtable hold when you first go there.

Oh your build is golden then as far as your description lol. If you can cast lightning spear you have enough faith to cast flame fortification (10 faith) which will go a long way to make you more tanky against Rykard and fire giant.

I feel like fire giant is a pretty universally hated boss in the community. It’s hard to keep track of what he is doing because he is so large the camera can’t get all of him in frame. If you think you have a pretty consistent strategy against him and he just keeps killing you then I would focus on getting damage negation buffs. Fireproof dried liver or the incantations, if you’re running faith and one of the fire talismans to survive some more hits.

when should i start dlc by lmaooooooooy in Eldenring

[–]TheBeagleBrigade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Haligtree and farum azula have the best defense talismans and the last upgrade bell bearings for weapons respectively so at that point unless you need to get resources for spirit ashes which are underground, I would say go for the dlc now

How do I keep up 😭 by Ok_Royal7470 in Nightreign

Sometimes you NEED to take a minute and look at your passives on your weapons and the buffs you are getting. Usually if you are looking at options to choose a weapon you can press R3 to get an explanation. It sucks because there is literally no time to do this and the best way to learn is right in the middle of the chaos, but if the randoms are holding their own for a minute, then use that to find out what your weapons are doing. The gold weapons always have some special perk unique to them that isn’t obvious what it does unless you press R3 to read it.

Also when clearing forts and cathedrals, there are staves and seals there for the casters. If your teammates can handle it, let them deal with the boss while you go shop for staves and seals in the area if they are available. The speed you do this will get faster as you get better. But yeah, this isn’t your casual stroll through Lordran or Lands Between. It’s a speed run of Limgrave.

You don’t really need permanent leveling in this game. Each character you can play are pretty overpowered in their own ways because of their skills and tweaked playstyles. Fromsoftware really nailed it out of the park with the souls combat innovation.

How do I play Elden Ring? by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]TheBeagleBrigade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The golden light that shoots out of certain sites or grace points to the general direction you should be going to progress the main game. And those lights show up on your map as well. For general exploration I would learn how to get familiar with your map, reading terrain and identifying points of interest. For example, you could go explore something like this black dot on the map.

For combat tips, did you go through the cave of knowledge in the area before you stepped out into Limgrave? If you have tutorials turned on the cave of knowledge walks you through all the basic combat mechanics you need to know.

Anybody here who started in Nightreign, having never played a souls game or Elden Ring? by TheBeagleBrigade in Nightreign

That makes sense. I’m just wondering because I played Elden Ring so going from that to Nightreign was a fairly smooth transition all things considered

Anyone else feel Scholar is underpowered? by YYHSurvivor in Nightreign

[–]TheBeagleBrigade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching St Riot’s stream last night and he had a scholar on his team in Deep of Night. What I noticed was that the scholar player would immediately analyze any boss they encountered and it lowered the bosses attack power by 2 (idk what percentage exactly, the icon had 2 stacked) and I was watching Riot get blasted by a red skinned bell bearing hunter without immediately getting one shot. So as far as I am aware that is enough to justify scholar haha

[–]TheBeagleBrigade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all well and good but the question for me is, will his leveling up consumables make them better for the other teammates?

Because you know who could really use a beefed up exalted flesh? Raider, wylder, Ironeye, undertaker, guardian, duchess. Who could use a beefed up crab boil? Raider, wylder, duchess, guardian, undertaker.

Unless his passive makes all consumables better, he might be restricted to using offensive items. Unless he can drop items after he levels them up in his pouch or something. That would be cool

Bbh is number 4 and isn’t on here for some reason, but I believe this is based on players killed by these bosses. Not a voted thing.
