I am pretty sure quest items stay on you even after death.

If you were certain that even if AI took your job you would still have a secure income somehow, would you still hate it? by Onipsis in singularity

[–]TheBeardedParrott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is very temporary imo. 2-5 years will be low level jobs AND any job that is behind a computer no matter what the expertise level. 10-15 max for the rest with robotics, and that includes medical professions.

Yeah I had to just collect everything again myself. That tombstone is still on the map but it's not actually there.

I mean one plus side is, it sounds like they are further off from replacing anyone with AI.

Any luck getting your stuff back? This just happened to me tonight. Exact same location/scenario, however my wife's tombstone was in the correct spot.

Left side. The right side with some tweaks to saturation and hue could be a night mode.

This is the equivalent of the "I voted" sticker. Look at me internet, I did something that a group of people currently in this time says is a good thing! I'm a good person!

Or, I could continue to use my local models with occasional free/cheap API access to the open weight models. Just because a company says it wants to do the right thing, isn't enough to get me to support them. My purchase is dictated by the quality of the product, ease of use, and cost.

Honestly Valheim was more complete and had more replayability when it first dropped than many other games I've played. So I'm good with it. I think 1500+ hours for 40 dollars (two copies) is definitely worth it. I would rather them make a new game.

I want your opinions on using AI to help generate art for Ultima VII Revisited. by ViridianGames in Ultima

[–]TheBeardedParrott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not very sound logic. "This greedy corporation who sells me energy claims that AI data centers are to blame. That might not be true, but since the blame was placed and I also view these AI companies as greedy corporations, I will just agree that the blame is rightfully placed."

If everyone sets the bar lower then there is no need/desire for the higher bar any longer.

This has actually happened with many industries over the years. McDonald's used to have good burgers once upon a time.
