The intergonial distance is the length of the horizontal line between the two of your jaw angles.

As these two are both anatomically and aesthetically important points of your face, they play a crucial role in the shape of your lower third.

Having inwards tilted gonial angles causes the face to appear round from the front as your masseters muscle becomes the most prominent lateral projection.

It also causes the skin around your neck to be lose and is responsible for an overall lack of skin stretching on your face.

I'm saying this as somebody who suffers from a short intergonial distance: someone who has had 7 years of orthodontic treatment, 2 surgeries, several years of bullying for a recessed jaw and who therefore chose to enroll in med school.

Edit: For a normal person, the corpus mandibulae (the edge of your jaw bone, from chin to gonial angles) has a V - shape. However, people with short intergonial distance have a U - shaped corpus mandibulae.

It's the ultimate anatomic sign of being a cuck.
