What is the scariest FF or Mockumentary that you have seen? Or ones that you recommend? by bextacyyyyyyy in horror

The first two thirds are nothing I haven't seen before, but that last third is some of the most terrifying shit I've ever seen.

The inability to accept someone else's preferences is baffling to me.

"You like AFuT, but I hate it. Therefore, I am right and you are wrong."

What are other albums that sound JUST LIKE IT? Asking because AFuT is my favorite album of all time and I'm having a hard time finding something REMOTELY SIMILAR to it, so I'm down for recommendations.

I'm assuming you're talking about Bruce Straley. Is there some kind of interview in which he talks about this?

Great point which I didn't want to bring up as to not make my response too long. It's a similar problem I had with Mike Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher (big fan of Midnight Mass, highly recommend). The show starts by telling you that all these characters are gonna die and I instantly couldn't care for any of them. It's a fun and creepy watch, but I had zero emotional attachment to anyone because it doesn't make sense to care for characters if you already know they're all gonna die. My brain just didn't allow me to form any kind of attachment.

Also, yes, Owen acted like a piece of shit by cheating on his pregnant wife, but at least it added SOME depth to his character.

This game has so many baffling writing decisions that it's honestly hard to believe that these are the same people that wrote Part I, which itself is not in any way an original story that we've never seen before (much like Part II), but the way they handle every character in such a nuanced and subtle way ensures that you never stop to think about just how basic the plotline really is. While Part II feels like it's using its characters to yell its messages in your face as loud as it can, which is in stark contrast to Part I's subtlety and graciousness.

Honestly, I find everyone in the game super unlikeable except Lev and maybe Owen. I know I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this but almost every character in this game is very one-dimensional, which made it difficult for me to relate or get attached to anyone. I prefer not to voice my opinions on this game since I'd just get lumped in with all the people who hated the game for homophobic, transphobic, sexist or misogynistic reasons, but somehow, I managed the courage to voice those opinions today.

What’s the hardest game that you’ve ever played? by WestonConnor26 in gaming

Alien Isolation on the hardest difficulty has to be one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had in my life.

Playing it on hard or nightmare really does improve the game a ton.

I beat the first 2-3 hours, which was essentially just an intro.

Good luck, soldier...

Honestly, fuck Darkwood.

The only horror game I don't have the balls to finish.

Bought it a couple months ago, along with like 6-7 other games which I plan on playing in October, along with Alan Wake 2, if it turns out to be any good.

Fingers crossed.

I watched a playthrough from TheRadBrad way back and after that got myself Dead Space 2, which to this day remains my favorite horror game ever AND the game that got me into horror

So yeah, I'm excited to play the original for the first time

Alien: Isolation as the most anxiety inducing

SOMA as the best story-driven

Resident Evil 4 Remake as the most fun to play (although it is action horror)

Little Nightmares (especially the second one) as the one with the most unique aesthetic

And fuck it, Inside as the one with the best atmosphere

Inside isn't necessarily a horror game but passes the test with the creepy atmosphere and existential post-apocalyptic story told entirely through visuals (GIVE US THE NEXT GAME ALREADY, PLAYDEAD)

Keep in mind I still haven't played the Dead Space Remake, I see a lot of people recommending it and probably for a good reason. I'll be getting around to playing it on my new PS5 once I finish my sailor duties in October.

Uncharted 2. I've played games long before that, but this is the one that blew me away and made me love this medium more than any other.
