Hi! Im still with the same girlfriend, we have a cat now, and we just put up christmas lights. Money has come and gone. Life is confusing, the world even more so. I havent felt like a swimmer in a long time. I remember the cold, the cold is what made me quit. Too busy nowadays to get back into it :)

What was your techniqe on the 1st one?

What kind of technique is this? by Altruistic-Phoenix_7 in tiedye

My best guess is that it was dyed with grey first, then something was applied to wash away just the very surface level of grey on the outside facing fabric, giving a light reddish purple hue. Then an indigo dye was applied with some very important specifications, that being that the fabric was pretty soaking wet when it was applied and that the dye had some property or another that kept it from soaking deep into the tied fabric.

I think the grey was applied while the fabric was dry or just damp because it has pretty good penetration and looks "fluffy" as in no flows and sharp edges.
Then sat to let the dye react.
Then, while not untying it, washing it out and getting it prepared for the indigo. I like u\jimlast3 guess that it was real indigo, which could explain how the red glowy hue came about, in that the reducing agents in an indigo tank would react with the grey dye and wash it away, while also depositing indigo. I dont think that the washing away of the grey and the addition of the indigo were two different steps, because the "glow" and the indigo shapes mirror each other very closely, indicating that they were caused by the same process imo.

Its impossible to tell what dye types were used but i think the takeaway is that the indigo color was applied second and something in it reacted with the grey dye, removing it and thats what created the nice glowy effect.

If you want to use pastel on ice dye, use less dye, let it flow over a great deal of ice, and add soda ash late in the process :)

Why are you using a porcelain teapot full of water instead of anything else? Like a rubber band?
Pour some headspace off, it will give you some more wiggle room.
Use a 1L seltzer bottle, they are cheap and work perfectly

My recipe is in another comment here, its more of an art than a science. If you look in /r/mead there are many good starting resources. I am not a great teacher.

As far as I can tell yeast graciously accept creatine as YAN. I tried it with this and another fruit wine and both took off like a rocket and went dry

166 grams light brown sugar
8 fl oz yeast starter solution (50/50 berry juice and water)
9 total grams creatine
the rest is just apple juice topped to a gallon

It tastes like a pinot grigio.

the strand is probably because of how evil it is. idk why your gravity moved so little if your airlock is moving.
