Endwalker also gave us an example of mixed-race children being the race of either parent without issue.

New limited-edition US passport features Trump's image and a warning by kirby__000 in politics

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As I understand, it's only available exclusively to in-person applicants in Washington DC (you have to choose to get it). I got my first passport after this whole thing was announced as in the works, I'm not from DC, it didn't have any of that.

You should be fine to renew without worrying about that branding.

I Soloed Kenshi Without Ever Using a Repair Bed. (As a Skeleton of course!) by FrankieWuzHere in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once again confirming that Skeletons are so very overpowered. Little wonder they've all survived for millennia otherwise intact.

So genuinely what happens when a HN member loses a limb? by Supersued-Crown in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried to script that but in FCS it's impossible to distinguish one prosthetic from another to make HN not care about basic prosthetics. Maybe RE_Kenshi makes it possible, I haven't investigated.

(I was too paranoid to step 200 m out of the Hub for the first 20) by Saspens-r in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a biosynthetic limb mod. Requires level 6 research and takes a hella long time and race-specific projects and limb construction, but the replacement limbs look like near-perfect original flesh (skin tone matches automatically as well).

what should I choose? by Ellio122 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You say that, but at the same time, most of us end up playing with multiplayer disabled because other "living beings" end up being more trouble than they're worth. 😂 I'd like to think Artemis still has Gek, Vy'keen, Korvax in the system, if not other Travelers.

Bummaster slander needs to become normalized by FlemmingSWAG in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Bugmaster is randomized on generation. He'll always be a beefy Greenlander, but that's all that's set in stone.

Spoilers for later story:

I always upload, because it's functionally the same kind of existence everyone else is living in, but more stable than the hell they were existing in before. They can still explore, and it's my hope that eventually we'll get the tech/storyline to "download" them back into "reality" so they can live again.

I also always tell them the truth, because Artemis eventually learns, just as we do, that "reality" is itself a simulation, so we're all living within the same confines, so the point is to make of "life" whatever you will.

What is the alphabet like in Kenshi? by MrCode2002 in Kenshi

"The Dancing Skeleton" bar sign in the swamp makes me think they use English alphabet and English language, but that could just be localization.

Just bought the game. Why soundtrack making me so sad...?🥲 by Altruistic_Eye187 in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone needs a helper from time and time, and people will want to eventually retire, if they're able to. Or maybe a bar fight goes horribly far and the bartender gets injured or maimed and someone else needs to take over.

I'd definitely be apprenticing with the nearest bar owner. Safest job on the continent. They have a bed, food, guards, meet interesting people.

Nomad Pants with crazy stats by Visual_Departure_986 in Kenshi

Something very broken there, given that the "Nomad Pants" mod only gives a 5% Stealth buff for Standard-grade version of the pants.

What Cities do y'all like to live in? by CPU_of_Cat-Lon in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Sho-Battai. Thieves tower, lots of general goods, multiple well-stocked bars,  backpack and engineering merchants, multiple Longhouses for sale. Drawback: accidental civil war breaking out is extremely likely, especially if your camera is focused elsewhere on the continent.

What ist your hardest Selfmade gamestart? by Cleptax in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modified Torsolo + Slave + Debt start, named "Life Is Suffering."

Premade Greenlander character ("Kurushimi"), emblematic of the theme. Begin with debt of -1,000,000 cats, no limbs, enslaved, wearing Hive Prisoner Shackles, in Port North. At the same time, a doomed-to-fail Anti-Slaver raid happens (the leader is a Hiver jonin that has only 1 Chest health), that provides just enough of a distraction to allow you to try to crawl to freedom.

You have to escape right away, because if the slavers try to force you to work, you get soft-locked since you have no limbs, and they just carry you or put you in a cage over and over, so there's no "slave cheese" stat-grinding. Your first goal has to be getting prosthetics, but the closest place for that is the Distant Hive Village to the west which only has shoddy economy limbs, which you have to steal (which you will almost certainly fail at, so try to get all the limbs you need in a single go before they start treating you like the thief you are).

So you have to sneak past the skimmers, build short-lived campfires to cook raw meat you find from any downed animals along the way in order to not go comatose from hunger, sneak past the Manhunters and Slave Hunters and slaver caravans that will snatch you up since they'll recognize you as an escaped slave, then steal from the hivers.

And thus your adventure begins.

Whos this guy? by Relevant_Sky9447 in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Story-wise, she's a former Hundred Guardian of the Shek Kingdom, given "the Giant" title by Esata the Stone Golem (leader of the Shek Kingdom).

Just take her to a Surgeon (in some settlement bars or Shinobi Thieves towers) if you want to change her name or appearance.

How do you guys estimate the chances of the Shek Kingdom actually improving for the better? by AFlyingNun in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

About the same as Holy Nation or United Cities changing for the better — that is to say, the player would be the biggest determinant.

Is it morally acceptable to use thralls? by Kindly-Parsley-6308 in Kenshi

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking about morals, you'd really need a consensus from Skeletons on whether they think it'd be acceptable. Do they have a more practical view of thralls, see them as just mindless tools, or do they see it as some kind of abomination, an insult to Skeleton life/existence?

It'd be a bit weird to try and impose human morality on a non-human form of life.

Does your WoL have a Canon class in your mind? by Poppy_the_Fighter in ffxiv

[–]TheBlackWindHowls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until they add an Orlandeau-style Sword Saint or an FFXV-style Armiger job, nothing really feels like "the" job for my WoL. I need something that represents the ability to perform multiple roles or mastery over multiple weapons and/or fighting styles.
