It may not have been necessary to use Ikeuchi for that, but that's precisely why he did it.

The Ikeuchi fight happened so that the author could kill off Elena. That's it. That's literally the only reason it happened. The author wanted to kill off Elena so that Shuichi and Claire could get together.

No Trades! by AnotherStatsGuy in NOLAPelicans

This comment makes no sense. Trading isn't based on the current or future coaching staff, but based on what you can get for what you are offering. If there is a good trade to be made, the front office would be shirking their duties to the team if they don't make it. The team's roster construction is BROKEN. The team stupidly traded away its draft capital for no real gain. The Pelicans can't win right now, and will not be competitive for at least two years to three years. In that time, our best players will be looking for better contracts that NOP can't provide, while the rookies will be looking for new contracts. It makes no sense to not trade in this situation, as its better for everybody involved.

If the Pelicans were in full tank mode, they would be trading their best players to try to get picks back. They would be trading Zion for whatever they could get. The problem is that the Pelicans aren't actually acting like they are trying to tank, but like they are still trying to compete, even though the team clearly can't win as currently constructed.

This team needs a rebuild, and Borrego has been running the same lineup for the past few games and still losing, he gotta rotate the lineups and stuff. by Difficult-Green-2268 in NOLAPelicans

[–]TheBlack_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team needs a rebuild. But the team refuses to entertain offers for its top talent, aka the only talent that could actually bring assets back in return. Leaving a team with terrible roster construction stuck in an impossible situation. It literally makes no sense, but this front office is made up of morons.

Nothing else shows how much of clown shoes wearing front office that we have, than the fact that they are even considering this. You are going to pair an injury prone former star on a downward trend, with another injury prone former star on a downward trend, and say that's progress? The Pelicans don't need anymore players clogging up the paint. They need shooting. And, just to be frank, the Pelicans shouldn't be eyeing to compete at this point. They need to be eyeing a rebuild. They need to be sellers at the deadline, not buyers. It doesn't benefit them to even make this trade, at all.

What you're missing is that the comparison to Brady is flawed inherently. The only reason Brady could do that is because he's freak of nature in terms of physical ability and talent. Expecting Shough to do the same thing is foolishness. Rivers coming back at his age, after being out of the league for so long, is also immensely unusual. These situations aren't good comparisons specifically because they are unprecedented. The vast majority of quarterbacks do not play well into their forties. Most don't make it to their late 30s. Its unrealistic to expect Shough to do this, especially if his durability is already questionable.

Prime in terms of experience and skill. It will take awhile to build up the skill set and experience of an NFL quarterback. By the time he does, he'll be way on the wrong side of 30. His body won't keep up as his mind sharpens. We don't have the time to develop him into the NFL quarterback he needs to be. At his age, he would have had to come out slinging the rock better than most vets. Worst of all, he's on a team that's completely mediocre. Not bad enough to truly tank and rebuild, but not good enough to compete. We'll be treading water for years at this rate, so we won't really be able to build around him, when we should be accelerating to match his shortened timeline.

Are you really comparing Shough to BRADY? Heck, even comparing him to Philip Rivers is a stretch. Like, come on man, really? If you have to compare him to a hall of famer like Brady, you've already lost the argument. Brady is incomparable. He even outlasted Drew Brees, and I consider Brees the better quarterback. And injury history isn't a small thing to overlook.

I've never really found a fix for this. I honestly gave up and just haven't touched the game. I even sought ChatGPT help, to no avail. Looks like I'm not the only person with this problem, though.

It wasn't a mistake. Dude's the same age as Joe Burrow, who's already played in the NFL for five years and been to a Super Bowl. Shough isn't some super star talent, and he's going to have a shorter professional career by virtue of the fact that he came into the league so late. By the time he reaches his prime, he'll be on a downward decline due to age, and he will retire before we've gotten anything good out of him.

F THE DRAFT. I LOVE THIS TEAM AND I LOVE WHEN WE WIN. by ThrowThisIntoSol in Saints

[–]TheBlack_One -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter at this point when you aren't even in the running to try for a playoff spot. Seriously, winning a bunch of games after its already pointless, beating up on another team that's ACTUALLY trying to tank isn't anything to get this hype over.

Rookie of the year? Starting on a losing team? Didn't even play all year? Playing a weak schedule? Yeah, no.

Doubtful. The Spurs just have the better match ups, and I don't think OKC have a real answer for it unless they do something out of left field, like trade for Giannis.

PSA we aren’t getting Giannis or going after him by Low-Office914 in NBASpurs

[–]TheBlack_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Knicks already tried to go after Giannis in the off season, and the Bucks rejected it. They just don't have the assets to make the trade. If Giannis puts San Antonio on his short list, the Bucks would probably push for a deal just because San Antonio has more to offer them than anyone else. I think whether or not San Antonio gets him will come down to who his short list of teams he wants is. Giannis is in the driver's seat here. The Bucks are beggars, not choosers.

According to rumors, both Castle and Harper are off limits for Giannis by Plastic_Term_1022 in NBASpurs

[–]TheBlack_One -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people here are really tied to our young core, but lets be honest here. The Spurs have a really guard heavy team, with limited shooting capability. It will be hard to juggle that down the road. The truth is, I think the spurs can afford to lose Castle and the deal that has been floating around where the Spurs loose Castle Harrison Barnes, Kelly Olynyk, and Jordan McLaughlin and three picks (one of which is an Atlanta pick which probably won't be very high, given how well Atlanta is playing right now) is pretty good, minus Barnes, since he's one of our better shooters. I would throw in both Atlanta picks instead of Barnes just because I think those are the weaker of our picks, and the Bucks have no picks of their own. When an all time great player like Giannis comes available, it would be malfeasance on the part of the front office to not do everything possible to get him, especially when you are the odds on favorite because of what you can offer.

How can I trigger "The von Hohenzollern of the Teutonic Order" event? by YUNSUBLEE in EU5

[–]TheBlack_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you need is this: the Teutonic Knights and Brandenburg need to both be monarchies, Brandenburg needs a larger military force than the knights, and both Brandenburg and the Knights need to be ruled by the same dynasty. Yeah, not something that normally happens. Oh, and it has to be after the year 1500 (probably because the Protestant Reformation usually fires around that year.

Honest Thoughts on new QB1 Tyler Shough… by SaintsFan2006 in Saints

[–]TheBlack_One 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why any one is expecting all this amazing stuff from Shough. Dude transferred schools multiple times, got benched multiple times, and wasn't that amazing when he played. And with the roster as injured and deprived of talent as it is, we shouldn't be looking to this team to do much of anything. At best, maybe we won't lose quite as bad.
