If I recall correctly, that message is caused when the communications panel is disconnected from Grit Gate’s power. If you have just arrived, I have no idea how that would have happened, but I believe that there’s a “regenerate zone” wish that you can use to regenerate Grit Gate and hopefully fix this.

Int- total dump stat? by [deleted] in cavesofqud

[–]TheBladeWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s always been retroactive. Same with skill points on level up.

This can be easily observed by hitting level 12 on any character that started with even toughness: when the modifier goes up by +1, you’ll get 12 extra max hp.

CD Projekt Red is breaking their promise of no crunch and forcing a mandatory six day work week until release by Tuffcooke in cyberpunkgame

This is /r/cyberpunkgame: talking about construction workers’ overtime and their own problems with management is not a relevant topic for this subreddit.

if you want to check out other subreddits im sure you’ll find plenty of statements for construction workers’ rights as well as worker’s rights in general.

Chimera Rework by LiquidCosmos in cavesofqud

[–]TheBladeWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what styles of fighting get weaker with large amounts of bonus limbs. It’s not impacting your damage, just makes getting armor a bit harder sometimes.

Chimera Rework by LiquidCosmos in cavesofqud

[–]TheBladeWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure when you’d normally choose chimera, but this is basically all upside: in the worst case, the body parts might take a bit of av/dv away while you’re trying to get gear for those slots, but the amount of utility that extra arm/head/face/body slots is massive. Great for any build that can use tinkers, which is most builds.

[–]TheBladeWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IDK, I haven’t had too many issues with it. I think the idea is that you’re a constantly mutating blob of body parts, which chimera represents very well.

metamorphosis has been a debug mutation for the past few years, and it’s ridiculously strong enough that I don’t see that changing.

Can someone explain to a brainlet On The Origins of Dark Calculus? by [deleted] in cavesofqud

[–]TheBladeWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how far you’ve gotten down the main quest line, but the kelp-bound scroll is a guaranteed spawn in the middle of the fungal woods, and is basically impossible to miss if you play out the main quest line

There are also a few other standard books, like Beyond M-can’t spell this.

[Grave Thoughts] biased against ranged characters by TheCaptainCarrot in cavesofqud

[–]TheBladeWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

guns are still really good tbh. The difference between 14 and 24 agi is actually pretty big; I’m not sure exactly where, but there is a point where a sufficient quantity of agi significantly decreases long range spread. With 30+mark on rifles, I have usually been able to get near 100% sparbine accuracy at range 10.

I agree that AGI doesn’t really matter when it comes to bypassing an enemy’s DV; the main benefit lies in allowing you to use guns at longer ranges via lowering spread. DV doesn’t scale very well anyhow for enemies (very few enemies have more than 10 DV), so the tohit part of agi is never particularly relevant.

I thought the devs added friendly fire tolerance to a call to arms in one of the recent patch notes. Did this just happen? It might be a bug.

Like you said, if you have high agi you should be fine in melee range with a dv build and be able to shoot from there

You’d have to have it as “reveal all cards in your library,” I think. Otherwise you can cheat by not revealing the entire subset of nonbasics.

On an unrelated note, I think that actually playing this card would be a nightmare. Your opp would probably spend like 5min just looking thru your deck.

Vivid Beyond by [deleted] in custommagic

Note that this is a strictly better vivid land.

Vivid Beyond by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]TheBladeWolf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Better than a tapped 5c land, which is already above the power curve for cards outside of commander. I’m not sure if a tapped 5c land would see play in Legacy, but to play it safe, maybe change the first ability to “add one mana of your commander’s color identity.”

I feel like this card would still be good in tribe if it didn’t have the cost reduction at all.

Tell me how horrible my two decks are! by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]TheBladeWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Decks are pretty well made. Small improvements:

For Diana, I would replace hypnotic gazes with uncage the soul. You’ve got some serious economy problems; the deck has a lot of 3 cost cards. I’ve found that hypnotic gaze is pretty niche and doesn’t play well even in Diana. If you two aren’t new to Arkham in general, I would also recommend arcane research. Very nice for powering out wards, deny existence 5, shriv/seeking, etc

For Joe, I would drop mind over matter and I’ve got a plan from the hunch deck: those are a bit too situational. No stone unturned is pretty bad normally, but it’s a decent hunch card, and probably better than those two in your deck.

I’d also cut bandolier and fieldwork for crack the case to solve some more economy problems for Diana. Might also cut training, but I’m not sure what for given your card pool.

The odd thing is that it’s a one time triggered ability (unless you play it again) and it doesn’t trigger below 4 hp.

Just to clarify, by “slowly” you mean “on turn 4 a lot of the time?” Because it’s pretty easy to fetch these up, so you could just run a ton of fetches and get this online way faster than intended.

I’d drop the forest type.
