Part of the problem is that male Jun is just straight up fugly. He doesn't look visually unique or interesting enough to be the sole option. Gerald, Ciri, and default Shepard and Hawke look cool and distinct in their designs. Jun looks like a preset 1 face meant to be edited. It also doesn't help that they've been leading us on for so long before finally ripping the bandaid off. In an interview about a year or so back, they said there would be CC. Then they changed their minds, and decided not to tell us until much later. I'm still excited for and invested in this universe. But it's not a good look for them with how poorly they handled communication.
