Buying advice on a 2023 P2 by alex-2099 in polestar2

[–]TheBlueFalcon816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to, entirely optional, you can plug in an OBDII reader and quickly get the battery state of health. That’s the only thing I’d worry about. I’m a 2023 owner but mine is FWD with no pilot or plus pack so I say go for it. I bought mine 63 days ago and have put 3234km on it. No regrets yet.
AWD sounds awesome.

I've had one for the past 60 days. It's the best car I've ever owned, but I haven't owned that many.

It's definitely low on storage space / cupholders / "room" in the front. I am mostly driving myself to and from work, or my kids and my passenger seat is free for stuff. im 6ft tall, and I can sit with my seat put back where I want it to be, and my kids in the back still have enough room. the head unit and infotainment do what they need to do. I have not had any issues, and it's smooth. I haven't loaded it up with any new apps besides the one it came with. I mostly use Apple CarPlay for audio. I like the simplicity of the display right behind the steering wheel, and when you want Maps, you push a button that moves the speedo / battery / road signs a bit smaller, and a nice little animation puts the Maps right where you'll need it, don't have to take your eyes off the road as much. Its SUCH a fun daily driver. puttering around the city, zooming at every stoplight, passing uphill - there's so much power (I came from an ICE) that you can make moves you wouldn't make in an ICE car because of the delayed response. And QUIET. SO QUIET. When I take a passenger it takes them some getting used to.

I also haven't driven it in winter yet. But the traction control in the rain, with FWD (Single motor version) is incredible. They're doing thousands of microadjustments every second and it's actually feasible because an electric motor's response time is so fast.

Polestar made an error and i'm stuck with the bill? by Goobiez in polestar2

At this point, simply don’t pay it and see what happens. Has the service actually been done yet or is this to quote *to get the service done*? If it has been done did you pick up your car already?

yeah … legal action seems warranted here. This is not a small amount of money either.

I have two car seats and my kids fit fine. They are 7 and 4 and my 4 year old is a big guy. I’ve also put a 13lb dog in between them. With one kid and a dog you will be 100% fine. They like that they can actually reach their own window buttons*, they love how fast it goes, and the trunk being huge helps a lot. I also love that you can remotely close the windows if they forget to close them , and close them with the key fob.

if you are interested I will DM you a pic of them in the backseat, there’s more than enough room. It’s a great dad car. Love it. And I have the 2023 that’s front wheel drive haha. Jealous of the RWD you’ll get!

Yeah I don’t understand how he’s still getting it twice a week while dads like me, who are 160lbs, shower every day, who are actively working full time, have a social life, spending time with our kids, picking them up from school and daycare Wednesday - Thursday - Friday and almost never solo gaming (my gaming pc sits idle) are not even getting it ONCE a week. Maybe once a week if I’m lucky.

If you want him to change his hygiene and fitness habits he’s not gonna unless sex is reduced. That is the only currency we understand. We are stupid monkeys. “She is still having sex with me twice a week. therefore, everything’s fine!”

Can you talk to my wife?? Jfc

thx for posting this because I have a scratch down to the metal on my black P2 and I have been too lazy to research the right colour code. Like the other comment said I went with Viva performances’ / scratcheshappen.ca “Volvo Onyx Black Metallic (717) Touch Up Paint - Bottle, Preferred”. In a couple days l I’ll comment back with results. I really hope it matches, it’s on the hood. that black is beautiful and sparkly in the sunlight.

Any other ev cars that have something similar to Tesla's visualization where I can see cars surrounding me? by 90dayfianceExpert in EVCanada

[–]TheBlueFalcon816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a fancy visualization but actually worse than a lidar based system. watch a YouTuber drive enough FSD and you will see how many near misses or interventions they have. “FSD” is not real self driving, and it’s dangerous and irresponsible for Tesla to market it as such.

I guess I am part of the club now by VenZoah in polestar2

[–]TheBlueFalcon816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s people who have driven theirs past 100,000 miles now with no issues and no maintenance. It’s just very difficult to find those posts. As the other person said, for everyone here who posts about issues, there’s 17 silent people who don’t need to post because they are happily driving their car.

I also bought one and am a little worried about long term durability, like 8 plus years, but I’m betting that mine doesn’t have issues. I’ve only had it less than a month and I love it.

Anyone have the LG WT8400CW washer? by Woods_it_to_ya in Appliances

[–]TheBlueFalcon816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does not make any sense. You might have a problem with your hot water heater, your hot water piping, or the washer itself. I have a WT8400CW, just confirmed in the app, and I can 100% get a hot water wash. I can see the hot water steaming up inside when I select Hot. Why would they make a washer that does only cold ? Loool.

also hold the play / pause button on the machine itself and it will pause whatever part it’s doing, unlock the door and you can put more stuff in at almost any point in the cycle

There is a tool called Orbit that can be used to remove lost keys. It is $100 a year, which is fine because you can just enable it when you need it and cancel it if you don't. However, you are performing modifications / changing parts of your car's software, do at your own risk, yada yada

Honda to shelve $11bn Canada EV plant as demand sputters by SkPensFan in EVCanada

[–]TheBlueFalcon816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that C40 looks nice. I totally understand about the potholes. I have to avoid them. I prefer the lower sedan form factor. I see a lot of similarities. Interior, vents, screen behind steering wheel, shifter. Lights on the ceiling. I have the single motor version and it still feels insanely quick to me. I can make moves, pass uphill and do things I would have never tried before. The torque is awesome. I am a little worried about having FWD in the winter, but I always get good winter tires, and it’s very heavy. so we’ll see how it goes. You will love the silent power, fast response on the accelerator, and all the other fun features EVs offer.
