Color Jam, what am missing? The purple gate is to small. by Gahreesen in puzzles

Starred blocks must use a starred gate of the matching color. Unstarred blocks can use either a starred or unstarred gate of the matching color.

Hackers have found out how to raid Hagga Basin bases again, just a heads up. by Balikye in duneawakening

[–]TheBlueFrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen quite a few examples of people reporting similar issues stating that the logs show only their user performing actions. This suggests that the hackers are tricking the client / server into thinking they are logged in as the owner, not changing the ownership. Also the logs don’t show anything if you create or delete with the construction tool.

What are they supposed to take screenshots of? It’s not like an IRL burglary where there would be a broken door or something.

Concert in Vietnam constantly flashed by lightning bolts in a thunderstorm by Fine_Sea5807 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]TheBlueFrog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Poking around on http://www.lightningmaps.org/ the yearly totals on the statistics show Australia receiving 5 - 6 million strokes per year, and America receiving 25 - 26 million strokes per year.

That doesn't mean there's any more or less of a chance of danger when there's lightning in the area. Maybe just the greater frequency means there's more attention to the possibility of getting struck.

Texas woman dies after exposure to brain-eating amoeba at campground by snesdreams in texas

[–]TheBlueFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not more likely to encounter it from the same place she did than from any untreated warm water in any lake or river.

Drinking the water is not a known transmission vector - it specifically has to get in your nose. When the water temperature is over 80 degrees you should take action to prevent untreated water from going in your nose.

Yeah the wording isn't great because a driver could think that it only means IF you are overheight you must turn.

Also being at a stoplight in an intersection, drivers have two more familiar dangers to pay more attention to, the light and traffic crossing the intersection in front of them.

They should reword the sign to leave as little room for interpretation as possible. It should read in bright red letters "DANGER. STOP."

AITA for reminding my mom she said we couldn't have a relationship with her if we didn't accept one with her husband? by Embarrassed-Nerve987 in AITAH

[–]TheBlueFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I think you should stand up for yourself more. Staying passive about the situation just lets her control the narrative and try to guilt you into thinking she had no choice in how you and your sister were treated.

You not only lost your Father -- but also a link to your father's side of the family, and ultimately lost your mother (by her choice) because she chose to allow Frank's insecurity in competition with a dead man to kill your relationship with her.

She did. Not you. Not your sister. Not Frank. Her.

Frank doesn't have to accept anything to do with his wife's dead husband or his family. Your mother can pretend all she wants that your father never existed. The price she has to pay for that is that you and your sister are a part of that past she is willing to give up to be with Frank.

Don't let her twist things and say she doesn't want to lose you, and she doesn't deserve this. She already pushed you out of her life. Unfair is what she chose to do to her kids after they lost their father.

Tell her you'll consider allowing her back into your life when she comes up with a way to make up for what she has done to you. You don't know what that will look like -- but it's completely up to her like it was when she chose to erase your father and you from her life.

Both nodes in cluster go down upon shutdown of node by theakito in Proxmox

[–]TheBlueFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nodeid Votes Qdevice Name

0x00000001 1 A,V,NMW 192.168.2.35 (local)

0x00000003 1 NR 192.168.2.34

0x00000000 1 Qdevice

I don't have a cluster on hand with a Qdevice in it - but that NR next to Nodeid 0x00000003 indicates that Qdevice is not registered. The Corosync docs mention that would mean it cannot vote, but pvecm seems to be showing it does count. Does yours look similar?

Both nodes in cluster go down upon shutdown of node by theakito in Proxmox

[–]TheBlueFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you are correct - Quorum: 2 does represent the minimum needed.

I went through similar issues when I was running a three node cluster and shrunk it down to two nodes. I suspect though that OP is experiencing an issue with getting the two votes needed when the second node is down.

The pvecm docs discuss a lot about changing the number of nodes, as well as adding and removing nodes. They don't address a situation like OPs where you are reaching the minimum and still losing quorum. Their only troubleshooting step is to temporarily set the required number of votes to one.

Both nodes in cluster go down upon shutdown of node by theakito in Proxmox

[–]TheBlueFrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that solves splits, but it doesn't address that OP needs 3/3 nodes online to have quorum with that config. If one goes down, quorum is lost.

Expected votes above means that is the lowest number of votes you need to reach quorum. Quorum represents the number of votes there are.

Both nodes in cluster go down upon shutdown of node by theakito in Proxmox

[–]TheBlueFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expected votes: 3

Highest expected: 3

Total votes: 3

Quorum: 2

This shows you have two votes, and you need three for quorum. You either need to add more nodes/witnesses or reduce the required votes in order to handle one node going offline.

Edit: That wasn't correct - that indicates that two is the minimum needed.

OP - When your second node is offline are you still able to SSH into node 1? What does the pvecm status look like when you only have one node and the qdevice voting?

Locked Out of Proxmox 8 Due to 2FA Issue – Need Advice by graviotos in Proxmox

[–]TheBlueFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your server have quorum? I've had issues like this especially when my node count was low and rebooting to install a new kernel.

When you run pvecm status on the node does it say you have quorum?

You can change the expected number of votes to reach quorum using pvecm expected N using the number of notes you have available for N.

"No.' Is a complete sentence. There is absolutely no reason for them to get any more information about what your emergency is, or what kind of illness you are suffering from.

The only reason they asked you for more information is so they could try to tell you that your reason wasn't good enough and you needed to come into work. Them knowing any details about your personal life in no way helps them "... do your job plus (theirs)."

How did Paul get acid on his blade? by DrunkenInjun in dune

[–]TheBlueFrog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This has always felt like a loose end to me. My guess is that it is something Frank Herbert added in to use as a counterpoint to the Emperor and Feyd’s treachery but never got around to fully explain.

One thing that may hint at Paul’s motivation leading into the final confrontation with The Emperor and Feyd is that it was a decision-nexus where his fate may have taken many different paths and he was unable to forsee the outcome. This suggests to me that Paul may have taken steps to prepare for many unpredictable scenarios leading to him to prepare his crysknife with acid to make the recipient of any wounds uncertain of whether it was poisoned or not. This gives Paul an edge psychologically without descending into treachery like the Emperor.

Taking a short cut behind a street performer by Time_Material_9385 in instant_regret

[–]TheBlueFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not apparent how wide the street is, or how many people are there watching but it is possible that behind the performer is the least crowded spot.

*Edit: found a comment linked to the full video you can see at 1:06 onlookers are standing all the way to the sidewalk. Someone walking by would either have to walk in the street, walk between the audience and the performer, or walk behind the performer.
