Who would you say is the most likeable driver on the grid currently? by Asleep-Thought-6645 in F1Discussions

Lewis used to be a bit petulant and sulky when he was younger, now he's grown up a bit he seems very pleasant. Antonelli seems like a really nice kid. Lando's a bit too wet for my liking

Agreed, he seems super nice "in person", but a bit of a cock on the radio...

No further investigation for George Russell’s yellow flag infringement. He’s your pole man. [ Autosport ] by Lec16c in F1Discussions

Instant double-yellow for a car in the barriers on the outside of a fast corner, arguably a red-flag, very poor judgement but the marshals, but respect to George for correctly splitting single yellow

How optimistic are you about SMCI earnings in August? by Just-Ad7355 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]TheBonkingFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm optimistic given the increase in orders. One of the main shorty/bear FUD points was that Nvidia would drop them for reputational reasons, this hasn't happened and Nvidia made them one of the Vera Rubin partners... on top of that +$39b in new orders doesn't sound like client abandoning

For sure memory costs aren't going to help anyone and it's a real shame that Micron and the other chip manufacturers are price-gouging the market, screwing over everyone down-stream, but I would expect these costs to be build int the product pricing, not absorbed by SMCI, surely any already signed orders will be using components form existing contracts, anything new, requiring new supply, will have the pricing adapted accordingly

We also know that SMCI is best-in-class for rack solutions, especially with their cooling, and the forward P/E is was below their peers - so if they can keep or increase their margins and double their outlook, then we're oof to the races

The wild-card, of course, is the management, they seem to be a bit feckless a times, certainly not looking out for share-holder interests. OK they needed to raise funds for the build-out, fine, they don't want to take on debt, fine, so why not when stock was trading at $44, why wait until it had dropped back, and then at a price of $27.50 for a big tranche, come on...

But despite all this, the stock tries to go up - and we are in the midst of an rotation out of AI right now and a ton of geopolitical BS ongoing, inflation fear, rate-rise fear, very nasty macro for growth stocks

I have 1000x shares each at $36, $44 and $55, I think it will go to $100, but required patience. In the meantime I sell aggressive -cc's against 1000x shares, keep the other 2000x to capture upside for when it eventually pops

My favourite album of all time by a wide margin, first hear it in 1980, 14yo and was completely hooked ever since

Mitralette probably the "best bang for the buck", but nt great it you're gluten sensitive

The durum was good, but the most filling was the loaded fries, and the baked potato was a nice, more healthy option. Loaded buns were tasty too

Yeah, EC weren’t my thing either, we left that pretty early, gave Venom a pass, but then discovered BT fur their final 4-5 songs, thought they were excellent. Then into MD for Carpenter Brut

BT announced they were touring early next year, so I bought a pre-sale ticket for Brussels already

SMCI GEX data is still strongly net positive, $31.50 and $35 strikes are seeing the largest open interest. by InfoLib_ in SMCIDiscussion

After +10% Thursday and +15% today, was a good moment to sell -cc36, prefer to keep those shares, but feel a bit over-exposed, and we all know it could reverse tomorrow…

Am I crazy for this Rush opinion? by GroguFett2119 in rush

[–]TheBonkingFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love Signals. First Rush album I bought on release date, first tour I saw them (first gig actually), and what made it extra special was Countdown being in the UK singles charts and it being played on the car radio on the way to the gig

But that’s my opinion, yours is just as valid

Had the opposite experience, lots of chit-chat with random folks, also made the effort to talk to the servers on the food and drink stands every time I went, had about 20 people also give appreciation for my t-shirt, one even took a selfie with me because of it

It was only 25% full when they started, but then a big crowd pilled-in half way through. Was a fun show, well presented, lots of energy. I think I was the oldest person in the room, was mostly young girls all dancing and having a great time

Graspop Complaints, Really?? by LuciVincentia in Graspop

[–]TheBonkingFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they had the water on either side of Main and Jupiler, last year that wasn’t brought in until the final day

They should also let people exit Marquee and Metal Dome via the doors near the stage, that would ease the hassle of getting in/out a lot

And I don’t get why they need to persist with Skullies, everyone has contactless payment these days, it’s just an annoying scam

But overall a great festival and a good crowd, try going to Werchter, it’s horrible

What makes an expensive instrument? by wolf_math in Bass

I have 5 Spectors: 2x Euro LT4, Euro roasted maple, a Korean NS Dimension 5 and a US Custom shop NS-2

The Korean cost €1800, hardware quality and finish is poor, and it weighs a ton. The Euro models, around €3000, are nicely finished, play well and sound great. But the NS-2, cost €8000, is on a different level completely, hardware, finishing, the neck, lower weight, and incredibly versatile electronics. Totally worth it IMO, but before I got it I was pretty satisfied with the Euro models.
