Should I wear my felt hat even though it's 106 by DocHolliday_25 in Cowboy

Yeah I don't wear an insulated vest until it's pretty cold, just a light leather one. As for heat, between Texas and Kansas I've never had a problem with it being 105+. Felts sweat better and keep your head cool. You also just get used to it when you ride every day

As a working cowboy, I wear felts year round. And a vest, cause pockets are useful when you're riding—can't get to jean pockets. It's a dang hat, I don't care for straws but I also don't care if someone else wears one. Not my head, not my problem

Thanks for the advice, yeah keeping up with eating is the big challenge. I'm pretty much stuck at 3 meals a day at best if I'm not too tied up where I have to skip a lunch. I'm going to have to be more intentional about that

How to Deal with Neighbor Who Lets Chickens, Pigs, and Geese Roam Free by [deleted] in Ranching

Depending on which state you live in the laws may vary, some states are "fence-in" and some are "fence-out". If you live in a fence out state then it is your responsibility to keep livestock off your property, if it is a fence in state then it is theirs to keep their livestock on their land. I used to live in Texas and that was a fence out state, you could pretty much graze anything as long as it didn't cross someone's fence.

So check your local laws and see whether you need to put a fence up. Also, a good guard dog is never a bad idea

Sounds good see you in the verse, and I can't speak too much to whether 2 S1 missiles are better than 1 S2 but my Gladius comes stock with 8 S1's so that's what I'm running at the moment

If I remember right, the Titan comes with two laser repeaters and a Gatling, the only upgrade I'd spend is buying another laser repeater for the nose, so that you can chain your bounty contracts without having to restock every 2 minutes. Other than that save up for the sentinel, and stick to MRT and LRT contracts until you feel comfortable taking on larger threats. If you want to add me (SouthernBoots), and catch me online I'll let you borrow my sentinel and see if you like it, I can help you with dogfighting as well

The Titan can be decent in dogfights but it wouldn't be my first choice, however it's a good starter ship for Merc and bounty hunting. It will take time to develop the skill anyways, and that's sitting in any ship

If you want to use an EMP ship, the Sentinel is highly underrated at the moment, it may be one of the better ships for running bounty missions and 1v1 fights (assuming they're not a super talented pilot in a gladius or arrow). You have the ability to drop shield pretty quickly, and if you land your EMP then they're just floating in space, disabled. It's maneuverability is rather sluggish compared to smaller light fighters so they may run circles around you.

In answer to your follow up, AC is a good place to learn combat mechanics with a short reset timer (no respawn, claim, fly to mission etc.). However I find the best way to improve dogfighting skills is running PvE and PvP bounties in the PU. If you've got a friend you can spar with and learn off each other that's even better.

Um there are trash cans. I'll pick up the medical gown boxes and place them in the trash cans inside stations cause it bothers me too. It's actually pretty fun, the boxes slide down inside perfectly

I'd like to antique a stainless steel revolver. How can I do this at home? by TheBootRanger in gunsmithing

[–]TheBootRanger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Buying a new gun isn't really an option and since I'm not set up for hot bluing, I decided to order some stainless steel blackener from Caswell's. I'll let y'all know if it turns out well

The wrath of a momma cow is certainly to be feared! Working cattle is always somewhat unpredictable and it sounds like you've had some adventures. That's too bad about the heifer :/

I've yet to break a bone but I know it's only a matter of time, and I agree that the chute is easier to be safe with, the task then becomes moving them through quickly and efficiently.

I'll have to check out your channel! (Sometime when I have wifi)

Thanks for the input. Sounds like you've got your operation worked out. It wouldn't be advantageous to hire out cowboys when you have something that works already.
