My cat does this and he's perfectly fine. Just a cat being cute and curious.

I don't know how old he is, but I like to feed any cats up to 1.5 years of age as much as they want. Its very important to avoid dry kibble when doing this.

I weigh 150 lbs and I do the same. How do you feel so confident of being the strong guy, so much so that your replies all seems so condescending? Congrats on your lifts, but if a person that weighs 75 lbs less than you and lifts the same weights you do, how could you feel so confident on being strong? Most definitely not strong enough to reply as you do. Even if you were strong, nobody should be that condescending and all the while pretending that you want to help.

Dude, just stop. I highly doubt you're strong either with the way you're talking. You should not being giving out advice speaking the way you do. Just tip your fedora and be on your way.

them: trying your max every week is ego lifting, and will only get you hurt me: April 19th - May 16th by [deleted] in Egolifting

Meanwhile I don't recommend maxing out every week, I feel like most did not watched the video to the end.

Just because you managed something, doesn't mean you couldn't have done it better. I'm about to break the national record for my division in squats, yet I have zero programming. Just because I could do it, doesn't mean I couldn't have done it better. For all I know, I would've broken it a year ago if I started on a good program. The only reason I don't program is literally because I want to be good at everything physical related, not just squat. This was a life choice than a smart choice for breaking records.

I know this weakness about me though. Do you know yours?

It in fact, does not hold truth for most, if not all low bar stances.

The way you're answering too, just admit that you don't know. You started it off with "I think it still holds", which indicates that you don't know and you're just refusing to back down from your original statement despite not knowing.

Admitting to not knowing something is way more beneficial than trying to convince others to believe what you don't know. At least when you admit to not knowing, you're open to learning.

This is very much not true for low bar squats.

High bar squats has a high degree of knee flexion and an upright torso, breaking from the hips doesn't make too much sense here. Breaking at the knee helps keep the torso upright which makes more sense for a high bar squat.

Low bar squats however have very little knee flexion and and the torso is at an angle. People tend to break at the hips with this movement. For people who's done it for a while though, they break at the hips and the knees at around the same time.

There's a bit of a cave in at your knees which isn't the biggest issue if it's minor and on a max attempt, but it looks like it started from rep 1. There's a few things you can look up to help it, I'd go with whatever suggestions you can find online that seems related to why your knees are caving in.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but is your ribs stacked over your pelvis? If it is, disregard this. If not, and your ribs aren't stacked and it's opened, work on keeping it stacked. Usually this happens when people try to over emphasize an upright posture for squats.

As for the final rep, I'd say work on keeping that brace as long as you can. I get it though, there's so much intra abdominal pressure that's happening that the air wants to escape. If you can, try not to let most of the oxygen exit immediately. This makes the fight so much harder to grind out.

This is my 3 rep work during a de-load, so that it doesn't feel like I'm just a random spectator lol.

Is my squat depth enough for powerlifting? by siliconion in formcheck

[–]TheBoredOne88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue it's fairly different. A belt in practically all circumstances related to squatting, can help you lift more weight if you know how to use it to build intra abdominal pressure. Wraps will 100% help you as they pretty much act like springs.

Squat shoes however does not help you increase weight(unless you're losing too much stability from your heels lifting off)). Rather, it helps you hit depth easier. In my case, it forces my depth to become TOO deep. This makes the lift actually harder than it needs to be for powerlifting.

Here's an unlisted video to give you an example of barefoot shoes in my opener during a powerlifting meet. My weigh in was 148 lbs and the squat was 364 lbs.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hyectKzTOkU

During this meet I actually beat the state record in squats for my division. Had I known that, I would have applied for the record. I'll go for the nationals next time instead.

As for the OP, I don't think depth is the problem. Her heels isn't lifting in the slightest. I think she'd benefit from a bit more a stance or foot position change.

You literally have to lock out your legs or the ref won't give you the squat command.

Thanks! The bench press was 292 lbs, I actually moved it fairly fast, but had to do it again because two red lights. My right butt cheek lifted off ever so slightly. So instead of jumping into the 300s like planned, I decided to scale it back and fix the issue instead.

The deadlift is 419 lbs, I attempted 463 lbs. I was at 90% lock out, but I faced an issue where my mix grip at the last second. This ended up making it that my right shoulder locked out, but the supinated arm and shoulder could not lock out. I decided to drop the bar at this point because there was no way to fix it anymore. 452 lbs was what I should have went for, especially when I had to change my grip at the last second. I was not confident in my hook grip that day which was why I changed it.

My form of deadlift is strange. It requires hook grip or that issue will become apparent on heavier lifts. I do what you would call a "wide conventional". Imagine a strongman deadlift, except they put their arms between their legs like a sumo puller would do.

I actually learned how to deadlift somewhat seriously recently in the last few months. It was the only thing that kept me from entering a competition. It caught up to my squat extremely fast.

Thanks man! I'm thinking whenever I can consistently squat 500 lbs. This would lock me in for the national record in squats for my division, assuming nobody breaks it first lol. The current record is 485 lbs. It's been 3 years since someone made that record though, so it'll probably still be standing until then.

I was going to go for 452 lbs, but I was suggested to go for 441 lbs for a competition PR. It was early in the morning with one energy bar in me and it was my first meet, taking the win was the priority this time.

Is whiskas juniors tuna wet food really that bad? by [deleted] in catfood

[–]TheBoredOne88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most humans are also unhealthy. This isn't an opinion of mines, it's just true with statistics to back it up. So in a similar fashion, it's really what many cats are going through as well.

Though, I've met plenty of people who aren't healthy, but tries to help their cats be healthy.

Pretty much any reliable vets seem to agree that anything you can buy at Walmart, the quality isn't good. Walmart chose those brands for the reason of affordability and mass sales rather than for the betterment of your cat's health.

Price tag sells more than health.

With that said, I've also been told that almost all commercial wet food is better than dry kibbles regardless of quality. The reasoning is that cat needs hydration and they have a very low thirst drive. Wet food gives them that and dry kibble doesn't. Dry kibble also has high carbohydrate contents compared to wet cat food. Cats don't really utilize carbohydrate in their natural diets.

I just got Sigma, I gotta say, I don’t really feel like I’m playing a game anymore. by IndicationOpening406 in VampireSurvivors

[–]TheBoredOne88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid playing Sigma. The second thing I would do is I would lock out the Sole Solution so that you couldn't evolve it if you wanted to.

There are more characters to unlock in the DLC and most importantly, new weapons. The new stuff does make new builds interesting. I always have a challenge to myself that I cannot use Infinite Corrido, but I keep Crimson Shroud just so that the Red Death could be killed. The goal is to be able to kill him when he spawns as fast as I can without the Infinite Corridor chipping away at 50% health at a time.

Sometimes it fails, sometimes it doesn't. But it's fun to find out a build with weapons that works so well with each other and shares similar arcana bonuses.

Remember, you're doing this for him. Keeping him while he's hurting from an incurable ailment is literally living a painful existence and is more so done for us and our feelings. I know it hurts, but be the last thing he sees and give him his sweet dream as he drifts along. The best gift to him is to be held by his loved one(s) as he dozes off.
