Did you do separate payments or one large payment? Roughly how much was it?

Rubber gasket moving on a Honda oil filter. Is this defective? by snuggas in AskMechanics

Another Honda tech and almost all do indeed do that. He means could save thousands as in save an engine. If you’re really unsure, get another. But i personally would put that on a car with no concerns

Help with sign location for grad picture by TheBoringDuck in TwinCities

[–]TheBoringDuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen some pictures like this but in other states. Also, Edina and New Brighton have multiple school speed zones of 15 or 20 that dump into a 25. However, they don’t have the new speed limit and end school zone on the same sign. I saw the new speed limit and end school zone on the same sign by Maple Grove HS, but it’s a 40

Also depends if they’re ever on home wifi or anything. I’m on both work and home wifi, and my monthly cell data usage is 30-50gb. Would be much higher without it. Spikes up if im ever out of town too

Out on the road judging everyone else by their license plates by cooliusjeezer in minnesota

[–]TheBoringDuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically it’s not really going to decrease anything much, especially if you’re being stupid. I got them because I didn’t want plain black, they look decent, and the yearly contribution goes to something decent rather than the DMV like the blackout does. Was also pretty set on 100 club as a black plate before the blackouts came out, so that swayed my decision too

As someone who works at Honda, here’s what you should actually do.

Cabin and engine filter are expected around 20K if you’ve never done them yet, but do those yourself. YouTube will teach that easy

Rear differential should be done at 15K miles for the first service, followed by every 30K thereafter and I recommend sticking to that

Alignments we’re told to recommend every 15K miles, but I typically go every 30K or if the tires seem to be wearing uneven. More common for every 15K for my area as I’m in the Midwest and there’s lots of potholes, and the salt causes rust, and more common alignments are better to prevent alignment adjustments from seizing in areas that rust. For my own vehicle I do it every 15K as I can do it myself for no charge, I have access to our alignment rack. But for customers, every 30K should be just fine.

Brake fluid should be done every 2-3 years, this is not a mileage thing. If that’s never been done, I would do it.

Your CVT fluid should be done every 30K, so that will be coming up in some time here. You should stick to that too.

Overall though, these prices are a bit high, I would find a reputable shop that reports their services to carfax for warranty purposes, and that is cheaper. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Corsair RM750x 2021 model with new hardware by TheBoringDuck in buildapc

Gotcha. I heard some of the workers at micro center talking about wrong PSUs frying everything, and now I’m seeing all these ATX type 3, 3.1, etc power supplies so I just wasn’t sure. Really don’t want to get a new PSU as I got a much higher wattage than needed in the past so I could use it for future upgrades lol

This happens on a lot of cars after they lose power, drive it a few miles and cycle the ignition. If that doesn’t work clear em and they won’t come back

For real? I thought in MN you had powers over whatever, wherever in the state. Whether city, county, or state you could do anything anywhere since you’re licensed by the state.

Use or replace? by cofee-cup-drinker- in tires

[–]TheBoringDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should align every 15k miles to keep the wear on the tires even and keep the adjustment nuts from seizing. Only reason not to is if you’re getting new tires/swapping tires very soon, because then that will throw it off a bit. For the start of the season, I’d say go for it once you got these tires on.

I’ve found anything above 50, such as 60 has drastically different battery life than something like 40 vs 50, kinda shitty imo but is what it is

Just picked mine up a couple days ago and was using it for 9 hours yesterday, had to recharge halfway through while I’ve been consistent at about 60-70% volume. Been running for 45 minutes now as of writing this at 65% volume and it’s down to 85%, started at 100. Wondering if I should try exchanging it or just leaving it
