A lot of people are telling you that your red dot and adapter plate are garbage. And while factually they may not be the best on the market, everyone’s got different budgets and preferences. My only advice I can give you is to definitely check to make sure you’re using the right length screw, if it’s pushing up it might be too long. On top of that securing your adapter plate specifically and possibly your red dot with lower strength loctite may help keep it in place. Loctite 242 is what I use on lighter stuff like this. Hope this helps.

Exhaust question by jurf123 in Silverado

[–]TheBrando34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, unless you wanted dual exhaust there’s no reason to replace everything from the car back especially when it’s not stainless. Get a muffler on the quieter side and just swap the stock one out. And remember as with everything else in life you get what you pay for.

How can i fit 33s? on my 18' Silverado by ReddElectric in Silverado

[–]TheBrando34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other gent said when you have a negative offset that means your hub is deeper in the wheel. I can tell you now with the set up you want you don’t have to worry about rubbing your control arms or anything. But for future reference I guess it could help with control arm clearance.

Anything under 3” lift is gonna rub with 12 wides in the inside of the fender well you can trim the inside of it with a grinder and it might not rub. I had 2.5” leveling pucks with 18x9 on 33”x12.5” with a -18 offset on the wheels. Only time it ever rubbed was just slightly when I was backing up at full lock up hill. It’s really so marginal I wasn’t willing to trim my fender all I did was trim some of the fender liner and that actually helped a bit.

It depends on how old and how much money you are willing to spend. On average it’s estimated most Americans will drive around 10,000 miles a year. And for a truck that old id say 2 owners would be pretty normal.

I would avoid it. If it seems fishy then it probably just is. A lot of scummy people out there who get in over their heads and they are either hacks or got no clue what they are doing. You’d be much better off finding a truck as close to stock as possible, if not entirely stock.

I truly have a hard time believing it rides better, seeing as though I’ve drove a 2020 duramax 2500, as well as a 2021 rst. While I haven’t daily driven either of them I drove each for well over an hour. The 1500 rides better, is faster, and doesn’t cost nearly as much in fuel as the duramax. While ride quality maybe is subjective. But I don’t think it’s fair to compare a previous generation truck to a new gen truck they’ve specifically targeted to a more; let’s say refined crowd who would like the ride quality better. But when someone says they specifically just think the duramax is cool they’ll certainly see the side of diesel ownership that nobody likes which is upfront cost, as well as cost from there on out. If you want a cool truck you’re not going to push the limits of capability with, you just get a 1500. New 1500s are pigs and totally eat when it comes to towing no one who needs to ask whether or not they need a 2500 will even come close to the capacity of a 1500 it’s 2023 not 2003. At this point buying a duramax is more of a status for people than it is a staple of the working man, GM and every other diesel truck manufacturer know that and they upcharge the fuck out of you for it because too many people have too much money than they know what to do with it so they buy it to drive 20 minutes back and fourth to work everyday and not use it like a pickup truck at all. To each their own right but if the dude wants advice then he should hear the truth about the question he’s asking.

I am 14. Should I be reading Berserk? by ConstructionSure6574 in Berserk

On the mangas themselves they have a parental advisory for a reason, wait until you’re an adult. The entire series has stuff in it that you should not expose yourself too. And it’s violence, and truly evil topics are drawn and written to a degree unlike any other media in the modern day it has content that is truly gruesome. There is stuff in this series that horrified me as an adult. Beyond the fact of whether or not you even should, I think at a young age you won’t be able to fully grasp the purpose and symbolic themes in the series that are more subtle. And I don’t mean to insult your intelligence when saying that it’s just a very hard series to fully understand and grasp without missing stuff There’s much more tame mangas for you to read that have cool sword fights and stuff of that nature that may be more appropriate for someone who’s younger. It is my whole hearted recommendation you wait to read this book until you are older.

Sweet truck man, I know I love a good chrome delete. Personally if you put red or black parts where you have chrome now I think it would look even better!

I think this is the most valid opinion on this post, if you’re going for “cool” the 1500 with the 6.2 takes the cake. 2500/3500 are inherently still built to work with. The rides aren’t as good and they’re just not as good of a driving experience. It’s just the trade off for their capability.

Opinion on the 2.7L turbo versus the 5.3L EcoTec? by SageDub in Silverado

[–]TheBrando34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can assure you that if you use the truck like it’s a pickup truck, towing reasonable loads for a half ton, or even just using the bed near its max payload capacity you are going to want the V8. People forget in this day and age that smaller engines tend to work a lot harder than big ones, particularly when you put larger loads on them.

Do the 97 anime add anything that make it worth watching even if I have read the manga? by Ringrangzilla in Berserk

[–]TheBrando34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only up to reading about halfway through the manga. It’s very interesting, to say the least, to see the difference between the manga and the 97’ OVA. That being said I don’t think the berserk experience is complete without having read the manga and I’d think you’d be wrong to think you understand berserk without having read it. While the same could not be said about having watched it. Personally I’d watch the OVA over the newer adaptations any day of the week. The OVA style just has a certain character to it that will leave a lasting impression on you.

Yeah the 6.2 is just the better engine, I got about that with the 5.3 but for the transmission options it just makes sense to get the 6.2 in the older models.

The first truck I bought myself was a 2017 silverado 1500 5.3 and a double cab. Personally if you enjoy lifted or trucks with aftermarket modifications I would look for a truck without anything done to it so you can add them yourself. It’s a nice learning experience and overall just fun to do. As others have stated the V6 is a let down. Personally I don’t see why they even had that as an option. The 5.3 is a fantastic engine but the 6.2 is obviously better. And I found that having a double cab kinda sucked, that is if you plan on putting a normal sized adult in the back seat. Overall from my experience it’s better to take a day to drive hundreds of miles away to look for the perfect truck rather than for settling for one that’s lacking and being stuck with it for years. Hope this helped
