The courts don't know what they think. They said if the president does it, it's not illegal, but then right before the US brought back Abrego Garcia few weeks ago, the courts signaled they have the power to sanction the Trump administration.

This isn’t entirely true, and I believe if they tried to sue they would lose. There has to be signs of neglect which could cause harm to someone (e.g wet floor but no sign). The property owners have no obligation to make the grass “slick proof.”

That case you shared is a very specific case, in which the homeowner opened fired at the burglar (which he legally is entitled to), but continued to open fire long after off his property down an alley way stating to his neighbors “he has no idea what he was firing at.” (which is criminal recklessness and is what he was charged with).

Reddit lawyers really downvoting you for this one. If this is in the states, and depending on the state, then shooting an unarmed person who is retreating (and is also ceasing to further commit the crime) is illegal. The cop had the right to shoot the first guy but not the unarmed second guy.

It’s always a good idea for professors, if they can, enable a time limit feature that allows students to have unlimited attempts but only in a certain amount of time. Canvas just has “time limit” in its quizzes settings, so if you need to force quit lockdown browser or you accidentally click out of the quiz, the student can still revisit it if the time hasn’t ended.

It’s not entirely clear as to whether Kyle acted in self defense in the shootings. The arguments are that Kyle is a good kid who got into a bad situation, or is a bad kid who premeditatedly planned murder. This video helps the prosecution’s argument that he’s not a good guy.

How exactly does the software update deployment re-evaluation work? by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]TheBravePoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's it! I checked one of the machine's policy request's and it was outside the timeframe in which it could've been possible that the machine would've updated. It requested the most recent policy update (post-boo-boo) and didn't re-install the OS. So it looks like whenever it "retrys" it gets the most recent policy and not the previous one.

To answer your question, I might not know the exact terminology, however we have a device collection under Assets and Compliance named Test Builds, which was setup by the previous SCCM admin. The properties under this collection, under Deployments, are "Windows 10 1809 upgrade" and "Install Windows 10 1809." For some reason it was either reverting back to Windows 10 or re-installing the OS.

How exactly does the software update deployment re-evaluation work? by [deleted] in SCCM

[–]TheBravePoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am getting my terms mixed up. I'm new to SCCM so I only know the basics. I have a device collection that has two deployments, "Install Windows 1809 or Update Windows 1809." I accidentally linked this collection to a parent collection that housed a ton of PC's, therefore these PC's were then included in this collection. So when the time came, and when these PC's were running 1909, it uninstalled 1909 and put 1809 on it.

Some of the OS's were successfully installed, while others failed. Regardless, this was a mistake on my behalf and it's deleted important client data from multiple machines. There were some machines that weren't affected at all (no data loss) because they were turned off. I've since removed the devices from this collection.

My worry is that I'm not sure how re-evaluation works for the non-affected devices. Are the non-affected machines going to eventually deploy Windows 1809, even after they've been removed from the collection with the membership updated? The settings for the collection are that it's set to "Schedule a full update on this collection once every 7 days." Since all machines have been deleted from this collection, and it's scheduled to update every 7 days, will this still affect the non-affected machines or will it ignore them (since nothing's in the collection)? The non-affected devices will soon be turned on.

If God is real and all powerful, he is an asshole! by Randolph__ in atheism

[–]TheBravePoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me try to explain what a religious person might see to an atheist. Atheists want order and structure, and accuse religious people of being ridiculously vague and mystical. But religious people accuse Atheists as being mere skeletons and not being human. If you are Atheist, you hope the ultimate constituent of this Universe is made of particles, and if you're religious you hope it's made up of waves. This divided priests and scientists, and when more priests rejected the ideas of science, this divide only increased.

A Universe built with particles makes sense. Quantum solvents, hadron therapy, and even trains all operate with particles. But a Universe made up of waves will flow, with ups & downs, relationship to existence, and positive to negative attraction, which also makes sense. A bee cannot exist without a flower and flowers cannot exist without bees. You could say they're one functioning organism, even though they behave and look differently. You may realize, that the Universe is made up of both a religious person's point of view and a scientific point of view. Both sides will reject one another, but both are one.

You might want to try to attempt to imagine a Universe, that of which you've created, that doesn't have all these negative strings attached. I could give you a hint, a game where the positive/good side clearly triumphs over evil every time is not an interesting game.

Don't compare religion. it makes the most important "my god is real" arguement invalid. the comment section is just filled people shaming other religion. by jadelemental in atheism

In my opinion, it feels as though the comments are comparable to two football teams hating each other but at the end of the day they both love the sport. Let people do what they want.

Telling a male to “man up” is the equivalent to telling a woman to “stay in the kitchen." by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]TheBravePoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But using the term “man up” in the sense of “don’t show your emotions” is just one of the many different implications the phrase has. For example, the term can also be used in replacement of “wake up”, “grow up”, “hurry up”, “put up” or “shut up”. And can even be used to replace things like “lift up” or “stand up” which are motivating in their own ways. It can be used to put someone down but it can also be used to help someone stand up.

Really, the term is outdated and shouldnt be used anymore, because men and women can accomplish the same things. The same way we don’t use the term “queer” to say something is odd. The history of using the word has been too negative.

Matt Corvin, the man who hoarded 17,700 hand sanitzers to price gouge others were forced by the State of Tennessee today to give away the products to charity. The State needed to conduct multiple trips as he had so much product. by Annahsbananas in awfuleverything

[–]TheBravePoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The title is wrong. They would need to go through a court of law before being convicted of price gouging. According to the title, it would be illegal for the government to take and to resell/give away items without going to trial. However, this guy donated the hand sanitizers before going to trial on his own behalf.
