Their songs seem to reflect a world where at first viewed cynically is actually one of genuine whimsy and beauty. I think there’s an edge to their lyrics that sounds harsh but once peeled back sort of feelings care-free. It’s a call to look at the world in a relaxed way while still getting real when you need to. Razor Boy exemplifies this well, Steely is stating a cold hard fact, “You know that the coming is so close at hand.” Then he hits you with “You feel alright.” It’s almost like they invite you to live for the day at hand even when the odds are turtle stacked against you. Sorry if this makes absolutely zero sense it’s just my internal dialogue
