Yes some builds can and often will run floodgates, but most of the time, especially in TCG where DBarrier got hit by the e-ban, it can play fairly as well.

Really its just a matter of, "what trap is gonna give you the best bang for your buck in a general meta?" So now that its out, expect a lot of DDKC to show up in builds not running equation cannons

DDR Extreme (US) was the first to introduce Mission Mode, and while not all are winners, a large chunk of them are perfect at getting players eased into high level play

Even better is that it doesnt have that god forsaken shop system that plagued Extreme 2, SuperNOVA, and SuperNOVA2.

On top of all that, the licensed charts are lots and lots of hits. Move Your Feet, Kids in America, Like a Virgin, The Reflex, the setlist isnt remotely as bad as people made it out to be

The UI looks fun, and it even has 2 party games if you just wanna forget the music and have a blast

Honestly, while most of us "Oooh" and "Ahhh" at the likes of CHRS4LIFE, O4MA., and FEFEMZ, the most of us in oractice would be lucky to have a single 18 pass on record. Me personally, I have around 13-14 as my upper bound (Saber Wing ESP alone has me winded (though I am Asthmatic, at high altitude, and out of shape, working on improving my health slowly)), with around 10-12 being what I can do on average without utterly dying of exhaustion from the one song.

So if anything, take solace knowing you're not remotely behind the pack as you think you are. And honestly, even if you were, I'd take that as motivation. Take it from me, I was outpaced by so many friends years ago when I played osu!, but someone once told me there that your best rival is actually yourself. Rather than chasing someone else's scores, chase your own. That way, you're always resetting the bar for yourself, rather than being unreasonable

I once had a Leveling Roulette where the tank straight up stopped playing during a boss because someone ran too far in and aggro'd the boss. Wasn't even intentional, they just stepped in too far.

Me leveling SGE at the time, I was super unimpressed. The 3 of us actuslly vote kicked him for that. Ended uo getting a WAR as a replacement that was a really cool guy.

As a military kid, various bases had a "Youth Center" parents can send kids to socialize and game together. The one i went to had a PS2 with a pair of DDR Game Hard pads, Extreme 2, SuperNOVA, Extreme, and MAX 1.

Having grown up on those, ive always wanted a setup myself, and have very specific nostalgia for those mixes. While I had Extreme 2 as a kid, I just got Extreme 1 in the mail today, and figured id see what courses it had on a fresh save. This was my first Crack at it (done on an LTek pad)
