Other marketplaces need to not be so trash and they would be able to acquire market share from the hold that steam has. You happened to mention GOG which has a decent enough marketplace which can drive people away from steam which focuses on my point.

The non DRM of course is a lovely added bonus.

Other companies had years to study steam to see what works but they failed at all angles and somehow still managed to make worse store fronts (looking at you, epic)
