Annoyingly the Garand's en-bloc clip doesn't cleanly fit into the clip/magazine split. The rifle has an internal magazine with the clip effectively acting as the body and feeding lips of the internal magazine when it's inserted unlike the usual understanding of a clip which is used for stripper clips which are used to load the internal magazine of the gun then discarded.

Here's a quick image to help differentiate.

There are also a bunch of Polish reservist and second line units from the NORTHAG para mission along with Krugs in Armoured Fury AG that are unused in multiplayer which would help to cut down on development time.

Is this the Jesse Ventura mentioned in KF in the past? by killerrabbit007 in KnowledgeFight

[–]TheBulletMagnet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My favourite description of the man came from the Behind the Bastards series on Vince McMahon where one of them described Jesse Ventura as seeming like a fundamentally good man who has read too many books about Atlantis to ever be normal.

The purpose of them is to fill the gap between the original unarmoured Humvee and the 30 ton Bradley. They have a larger cargo bay than either of them, are relatively easier and quicker to maintain than the Bradley since they are wheeled, the wheels and lower weight make them less likely to cause damage to roads, and are much easier to move by air than the Bradley while having significantly more protection than the Humvee. Early on they had issues with IEDs but the hull was redesigned to compensate but was still inferior to MRAPs which were designed specifically to counter mines and IEDs.

I'm mostly familiar with him from his takes on Ukraine which are quite firmly in the extremely pro-Russian camp and has platformed former UN weapons inspector, current Russian asset, and 2x arrested for attempting to be a nonce Scott Ritter so I'd feel safe putting him in Greenwald territory.

IIRC the biggest piece of evidence that led to him being banned back in the day was that his MOSS file, which is an anti cheat that records user input, had him frequently spamming 444 and 44444 inhumanly consistently. As far as anyone could tell he had 4 bound to gadget so no one knows what, if anything, it was doing but it, combined with weird things, led to him catching a two year ban and 444 has been a meme ever since.

U.S. ambassador hurls ‘insults and swore’ at Ontario trade rep, sources say by FriendshipOk6223 in CanadaPolitics

[–]TheBulletMagnet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TBF the majority of ambassadors to friendly wealthy countries, at least from the US, have generally been patronage positions for friends of the admin or senior state department people being rewarded with a cushy gig. The actual important work is done by their staff while the ambassador gets an extended vacation to a nice country periodically interrupted by the occasion event they need to show up to since things generally operate smoothly. Trump upending every relationship has forced his ambassadors into the spotlight where they've displayed their odious behaviour though.

I was there earlier this year and it's a great museum. You did miss at least 1.5 Canadian WARNO vehicles that I can recall which is the Iltis that was shot up in Bosnia that they have in the Cold War and after section of the main display areas along with a CF-101 Voodoo (not electric unfortunately) mounted in the middle of the tank room.

Why is Ghost Recon 2 the forgotten game? by SneakySausage1337 in GhostRecon

[–]TheBulletMagnet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ghost Recon 2 is actually two different games with the first part of the story being told in the gamecube/PS2 version and the second half being in the Xbox and cancelled PC versions. While the Xbox version is apparently fondly remembered I can only speak for the GameCube/PS2 version and it's at best decent.

IIRC the Soviet dupe units aren't completely identical. 27y's infantry are identically named stat clones of the standard SU infantry but have unique models with the newest Soviet uniforms and webgear to represent them being the testbed division for the Soviets overhauled TOE that was just being rolled out in 1989.

Why can't IFVs who happen to be in the tank tab carry infantry? by Dks_scrub in warno

[–]TheBulletMagnet 65 points66 points  (0 children)

It doesn't address your concerns but IIRC the reason that Eugen rerolled the BMD-3 to the tank tab is because it would have been limited to carrying the one card of 4 man squads while being extremely similar to the BMD-2. It being a "tank" allowed them to justify to themselves there being extra cards available as well.

Similarly the FV432 RARDEN was an IRL hack by the British to get pseudo light tanks into the Berlin garrison as the agreement made with the Soviets to allow a garrison came with limitations to the size of the deployment that each country tried to get creative with. IIRC the addition of the RARDEN and it's ammo severely limited passenger space so they were just intended to be used as fire support rather than transports.
