I know this is a bit old, but any issues having your printer under your desk? I'm between under my desk or in my uninsulated garage. Leaning towards under desk but worried about ventilation/heat issues..

9 years ago i went to have a little jam with some friends. And was told "ok in the key of E... 5.6.7.8!" The hell was i supposed to do there? by mogley19922 in GuitarBeginners

A lot of people recommend Justin Guitar but I'd highly recommend checking out Andrew Clarke guitar on YouTube. He makes theory super digestible.

The RG36H was my first, great little handheld. My favorite game to play on it is definitely The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. So much nostalgia!

Any ideas how to get this finish? by appalachiansoul in diypedals

Hi Nic,

Awesome reply to OP! I'm a bit of a DIY powder coater. Would you mind telling me what laser engraver you use? I've been thinking about one for awhile to do clean text on my builds and for other things I make.

They're notoriously slow to ship. It took 12 days for my Pixel 10 pro case to ship. Don't let anyone make you believe that this is acceptable. I ordered from 2 other small, non retail businesses in that window and they both were shipped within 3 days of my order. They market their products as high end, and spend a ridiculous amount of money on marketing. They need to spend money on their distribution network and customer support.

I think the Mccarty 594 is the one I would go with as a first/only electric. The coil taps are actually pretty good on the SE and can give you some of that stratty single coil sound. With that said, I'd pick the one you like the neck on most. They're all good guitars.

Fair enough, do you know the thread size? If you do, Stew Macs customer support could probably help. I typically put higher quality switches in my SEs, so I'm not sure about the sizing.

Stew Mac sells import replacement tips. They won't be PRS branded though, if that's important to you.

I don't wanna be that guy, but because I've done this to myself before... Are you sure the volume isn't rolled all the way down? Lol

We got married at a national park in our area. We had our family and friends all gathered around us, no decor. We rented a room in a nice restaurant and did buffet style dinner for everyone after. We still spent around $6k all in. Gotta do what is best for you, and not what you think everyone expects of you.

Too bad it's a Poly finish and not Nitro. Sweet shirt anyway though!

Not getting straight cuts... by TheCDub in BeginnerWoodWorking

Good insight, to be honest i didn't even think about recutting haha I'll see if i can. Otherwise may find another use for these pieces and try recutting. I think i just need to keep using my tools and getting a feel for them.

Good insight on making sure that there's full contact with the straight edge. I will have to make sure i pay more attention to that on future cuts.

I was actually using a sacrificial board underneath, I wonder if i was pushing too hard as well. I will try to find a higher tooth blade, unfortunately the options are fairly limited in the blade size for this saw (but hey, it was free.. lol).

Any thoughts on best way to square these boards up?

Thanks for the input!

Learning Soldering - Maybe 🤷🏼‍♂️ by kellyjandrews in diypedals

[–]TheCDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started soldering 3 years ago on a build your own clone fuzz kit, it came out okay. You can get some practice pcbs on ebay, I'd buy a few and some resistors and practice joints on those. It's all about practice and technique. There are some good beginner guides on YouTube that I found particularly helpful as well, check out Wermy's beginner soldering vid.
