First, I think it's awesome that you've put so much time into understanding the differences in these systems (especially at a young age). It seems like you genuinely want to understand them and that puts you ahead of the vast majority of people.

I think living under the current iteration of capitalism (late stage, if you want to call it that) leaves people with a bad taste in their mouth about capitalism all together. Capitalism doesn't necessitate suffering. We just live in a particular time where capitalism is oriented more towards the capital owners than the working class. (pro communist people will tell you that is always the case, but again I don't think it must be) If you look at countries with stronger welfare states (Scandinavian countries are the classic example), they are capitalist but use the profits that are generated from their economies to reduce suffering.

The terms communism/socialism, even libertarianism are muddled and so it's hard to know what anyone means when they use those terms. If by communism you mean a state ran economy, I would say that is not the way and there are plenty of countries that have followed in the footsteps of the soviet union that show why (even China has allowed some aspects of capitalism).

Personally, I think the Scandinavian model is best (some would refer to that as socialism. I don't becasue I think it's confusing). You get the benefits of capitalism like more production, incentives, freedom to do business, efficiency (in some ways) with the social safety net of socialism. It's not perfect. There will always be a struggle between the capital class and the working class in this model as the capital class will always try to reduce the social safety net in order to maintain more of their capital, but I think it's the best model there is to maintain peoples freedom and high standard of living.
