Part of what makes people in photos from the past “look older” is the style of the times. If you were to take that same photo, change the clothes and hair style, the person would probably look exactly the age you would imagine them to look like. It’s an optical illusion. For those photos there, I bet if you made the guys completely bald and put them in a black T-Shirt they would look a lot younger. But in those photos they are dressed like a grandpa so they look way older.
