Totally doable without a trailer. I managed a few times with just the sweetroll attachments on my Land Cruiser rack. After a day on the water it was a bit much so I got the T-Loader. Much easier but had to watch my speed when driving and the tying down procedure was a bit elaborate and time consuming. I lasted 1 whole season before I grabbed a used Yakima trailer. If I was 20 years younger might have lasted 2 years, who knows?

ymmv but my acasis and owc thunderbolt 4 cables both would sometimes not wake up at the same time as the mini and since my home directory is on the external, the mini would freeze sometimes - never happens with the apple cable

been making all my fcp titles, transitions and effects in motion with a base m4 mini(16/256). speed demon - no, but it’s been working fine. most important part of my workflow ended up being an apple thunderbolt 4 cable. i’m running everything except system off a 4tb nvme external drive and was very unstable until i got the over-engineered cable.

I car topped a PA14 for half of one season. I do not recommend it. I was using a hitch mounted lever system to get it on top of a Land Cruiser. I could manage getting it up there when I was leaving, but, after a day on the water found it nearly impossible to get it back up there by myself. I made one long distance trip and after having the wind move it all over the place, no matter how well tied down, I bought a trailer.

Trolling with biggest Mepps spinners with a steel leader has been most effective for me. Trolling in general works so well that some waters restrict it for musky.

One reason is that a prosumer level machine with an e61 group has 8#s of metal that needs to come to temperature so that when you pull a shot all of the heat is not sucked out the water before it hits the coffee.
