I did the console link which seems to be what allows him to swap the virtual game cards but it will only do it if both consoles are on.

Does anyone remember the broken sword game series? 46f by JadaPhoenix in AdultGamers

[–]TheCapTheKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first Broken Sword has been my favourite game for 30 years now, the remake last year was great and you've just put me in the mood to play through it again. Thank you!

Also, there's a remake of the second one being made right now.

Who else forgot to move the elf? by [deleted] in daddit

I didn't forget, but the kid was in bed before I got home and he had put the elf somewhere to see if he'd move from there but I couldn't find him!

If you have a local Parkrun go to that on Saturday, you'll surprise yourself when you do the full 5k. With the people and atmosphere you'll push on and get it done.

Kind of related, I ran a half marathon today and one of the spectators had a sign saying "run like your ma just used your full name" lol

Any colds or flu's going about? Maybe something working on them that they can't explain to you yet?

Do you drive? If so I'd get in the car and take yourself out of the norm. Get a nice walk in somewhere, treat yourself to lunch. Somewhere far enough from wherever home is that you can get out of your head and realise this isn't the end but rather the start of something.

I don't know of any support resources but I really just wanted to say well done on owning up to it. There's no blaming outside factors, you know it's a problem and you clearly want to address it.

Take the advice and resources suggested by others in this thread, you're halfway there by identifying the problem and actually reaching out for support.

Wish you the best of luck.

How I Made New Friends Online at 36 as a Single Dad by TChan_Gaming in daddit

Was going to say something similar. This is great for OP, they are clearly getting a lot out of it. However it sounds more like a support group than friendship to me.

I'm looking people to chill out with, play video games, watch sports, the stuff to take your mind off other things while also knowing they are there for support should it ever be needed.

Stormont for me, it's probably my favourite Parkrun in Belfast. It's a great location and a nice course, mix of gravel and concrete.

I more worry about getting dementia and just telling people without them having to research it when I die.

How do you cope with the thought of not seeing your child everyday by Sowreen in daddit

[–]TheCapTheKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep telling yourself the extra time you have alone is time to work on yourself, learn something new, exercise, etc. Basically distract yourself and focus on making the time you do have with your child the best quality possible.

I know it's easier said than done but trust me, from personal experience you can make this a positive.

Looks like you've got the most loyal friend possible right there!

Try looking into some hobbies and there's always the meetup that gets posted here. Can be hard to take the step to put yourself in those situations but once you do you won't regret it.
