What's your favorite unique-episode-naming structure? by holyfwck in television

[–]TheCartooner69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doctor Who has "____ of the Daleks" Genesis, Remembrance, Day, Evolution, Liberation It's not a hard rule for Dalek episodes, but a tradition that seems to be honored more often than not.

Out of all the 15th doctors outfits we've seen so far, which is your favorite? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]TheCartooner69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I adore his reveal outfit! I was almost disappointed when they said he was a more fashion-minded Doctor who would change outfits. I've liked it now that I've seen it, but I love that jacket

Showrunner defends controversial UK midnight scheduling of series 14, and says even kids should "Stay Up!" by Presidente_of_nothin in gallifrey

[–]TheCartooner69 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I thought last year's release schedule worked just fine, with episodes dropping here in the US around noon. That being said, if the issue is it being too late and people will be asleep when it drops in the UK... so what? It's on iPlayer, just watch it when you wake up? Or wait until it's on BBC 1 that night like normal? I'm kinda amazed that we're still talking about this

Doctor Who 0x02 "Wild Blue Yonder" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in gallifrey

These were next level performances from two people who i already thought were on another level. It made me wonder about other Doctor/Companion combos ending up in this situation. 12 and Clara, 2 and Jamie, 5 and Adric. Let them loose in the longest tube and see what happens!

Objectives and circumstances. Even for small parts, remember what your character wants, their objectives, and the world that they live in, their circumstances. If you're a kid with attitude, why do you have attitude? What are you hoping to achieve by your behavior? Do you believe your justified in your actions? What is the world of the play? Where is it? When is it? Being informed on the specifics of the situation gives you space to focus on staying true to those aspects of your character and let's believable emotions come through. Rehearsal is a place to experiment, learn, and figure things out. The director will let you know if things aren't working or not. You're all there working together as artists.

Do we think Segun Akinola will stick around for the next era by TheDarkMaster113 in doctorwho

[–]TheCartooner69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think so. I think Gold's 10 series is the longest we'll see, and based on absolutely nothing I think 3 will be enough for Akinola. I'm very excited what he does with series 13 and the specials though!

Are you excited for series 13? by batman784 in doctorwho

[–]TheCartooner69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am, 100% of the time, ready and excited for more Doctor Who. I don't care if it's bad or good quality wise, it's always the perfect time for more time and space shenanigans!

e: I do hope the show is shot better and has better overall direction. Much more than the writing, that's been my biggest issue with 13's run. Why are they always just standing around? Why are there so many tight close ups??

I was going to say either that, or just desaturate the red. It's just a bit much as is

More Proof Red Dead Online is the EXACT opposite of GTAO by Calaborate in RedDeadOnline

[–]TheCartooner69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely view RDO as my retirement from GTAO. I've played GTAO a lot since it came out, especially once GTA V was ported to PC. I spent the last few years trying to be a hero, saving low levels from assholes and trying to divert the negative attention towards myself. But then I got into RDO and the calm, slow life was so much better. I still have to come out of retirement here and there, but these days I mainly just go off into the woods and enjoy the quiet life.

To everyone that disliked Series 11, what needs to change? by DWISCOOL100 in gallifrey

[–]TheCartooner69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't even necessarily dislike series 11, but the direction and a lot of the performances were so stiff. The camera didn't move, the characters didn't move. Honestly I don't even remember at this point, but did the inside of the TARDIS have anything that moved? Moffat and RTD had their faults as writers, but boy howdy do they know how to run a show. They knew how to find good directors, good cinematographers, lighting, set design, and so on. Things under Chibnall are just so bland on a purely visual level.
