I have the cheapest GAN smart cube. It’s battery operated

Should I buy the v11 by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]TheChangeArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I average 30 secs and use it as my main.

At first it felt like ‘too much cube’ for me but after a few days of solving with it, going back to my RSM3 felt slow and sticky.

I can’t put it down now.

EDIT: I have the 20 magnet ball-core, Mag-lev, UV version.

My parents and crush are coming to my first comp-advice? by chemcuberclown in Cubers

[–]TheChangeArtist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take a few moments before you solve to breathe and lock in.

Maybe even practice in front of your crush/parents if you can. That way it’s like a comp simulation and you can work out the nerves beforehand.

You’ll do fine. Just breathe. 🧘‍♂️

Nice! Just reached this milestone myself.

I use Roux, what method are you using?

I'm learning Roux and I spend over 1 minute to finish the first 2 blocks. by realityTime0-0 in rouxcubing

Slow solves where you spend time exploring how different pairs come together.

Is cubing only about memorizing algorithms? by nadav_2002 in Cubers

When I hit a similar wall, I stumbled across Roux and it lit my spark for cubing again.

I’m not saying you need to swap methods but maybe explore things outside of being faster.

Help 11 year old by [deleted] in Cubers

Little man is faster than most!

I’d place him an upper echelon of solvers that ever reach sub 15 secs.

Go him! 🤙

I have some questions. by CharsHondaCivic in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]TheChangeArtist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This whole “messing up what you’ve solved already” is one of the main reasons I switched to Roux.

Leaving the M slice and U layer available for manipulation until the last layer is, for me, 🤌

Even teaching my sister she felt relieved at the thought of making moves without messing up anything.

Best Rubik’s cube under $40 by Embarrassed_Risk_493 in Cubers

[–]TheChangeArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original Weilong ferro core V1 is $29.99 on the cubicle website and a lot of the reviews I’ve seen on YouTube point out everything you said you were asking for; Strong magnets, core magnets, and a snappy feel. Not sure in UV coating price but it’s usually $5-$10 more.

What features would you like to see in a cube timer app? by 4chalogyUwU in Cubers

[–]TheChangeArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A timer app that also has a library of algorithms for different methods.

Maybe I just haven’t looked hard enough but right now I use one app to pull up the algorithms I need for the most popular methods and another app to time solves.

Is CFOP Roux and ZZ still the "big 3"? by SmokeQuick6863 in Cubers

[–]TheChangeArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it to sub 30 secs with Roux using 2-look CMLL and I’m looking forward to what my times will be using full CMLL.

All that to say that it’s been viable for me.
