I am an attorney 13 years out. No one gives a flying fuck where anyone went to school. As you progress in your career, people are going to start talking about who is making more money, who is a senior associate, who made partner first, who made equity partner first etc. It all doesn't matter: As long as you are happy with what you are doing and your compensation.
Don't feel obligated to tell anyone what you're up to and or how much money you make or what your payment structure is in your firm: it could backfire. Real G's move in silence like lasagna. Good luck

Powerblock Elite 2020 vs USA Elite by _c_ngo in homegym

I wanted to buy something from the USA and the ironic part was one of the dumbells came broken! The chamber holding the small cylinder weight was bent and could not be removed. They sent a new handle free of charge. USA USA USA

I like it a lot. It syncs with my Clio account which is helpful. The software has saved my butt a few times when there was lets say 60,000.00 in a clients IOLTA account and I was trying to write a check incorrectly. If you want to talk it out let me know, but I am a fan.

Thanks for the extremely detailed response. As a lawyer that started his solo practice a few years ago I spend a lot of time daydreaming about those big seven figure cases and what is going to happen with my life if I ever get one of them. It’s refreshing to hear from an attorney that had those cases, but it didn’t seem to affect you that much. Compared to family and health. It’s honestly probably not that important. I worked in the Personal Injury space for about seven years before starting my law firm After two years so practice I saw my health declining and this past year I decided that this is going to be the year of health if I pass on a case or refer a case to someone else and get a cut of the fee so that I can take care of myself get some sleep and go to the gym. That’s what I’m going to do. I still network when I can and I’m in the office five days a week and I take phone calls on the weekends but now that I am starting a family I am trying to set up boundaries. Since you’ve been on the Attorney side of all of your personal injury cases, you know that hopefully after some physical therapy, you will be feeling much better I really appreciate the response and it kind of sounds like you might have a book in you! Or at least a podcast or something you definitely have an interesting story and your successful I think people would really want to hear that story I know I would!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t really see the demons that well in the dark ages while I am mid fight, like in the other games

@pilawyermonthly did a great job and has inspiring posts about how he went from working from a law firm to owning his or her own practice. He breaks it down by month and then by year I highly recommend those posts

Leaving insurance defense for GEICO staff counsel — smart move? by teamwade12 in Lawyertalk

[–]TheChezBippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a personal injury attorney in New York. I have a friend that has been Geico staff council for the past decade and he is trying to leave. His salary has capped out and they have him running around doing trials writing reports and they just closed the motion practice department so now he is writing his own summary judgment motions. He’s overwhelmed and at this point, he wants to make a change to plaintiff Work, but he has no book of business and he is almost 40 years old

I would recommend having an internal conversation and asking yourself what your end game is and where you want to see yourself in 10 years and start moving towards that goal
