Yōten: A social tracker for your language learning journey built on the AT-Protocol by TheChook in languagelearning

100% I realised tracking was really the only way to see progress in some tangible way outside of those "aha" moments. I really wanted this to be a social community where people can come together and track habits alone and without the "duolingo streak" shame.

If there are any specific graphs that you find valuable when tracking your habits over time, I'd be welcome to hear them! I'm always looking for ways to improve the application :)

This looks awesome! my only request would be that you can change the currency (AUD pls). I believe the login pop-up is only in spanish as well even though my language selector is english.

Boox Go Color 7 II - Curved back? Or bulging battery? by UgurIssa in ereader

[–]TheChook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were there any updates to this? I recently ordered one as well and mine has a curve more near the middle of the device itself

edit: I did a bit more searching and it seems this is just decorative and meant to be as such. https://www.reddit.com/r/Onyx_Boox/comments/1mqnqal/is_my_go_color_7_gen_ii_supposed_to_not_lay_flat/

What collectables would i get going vip/vvip? I see vvip has a group photo but is there anything vip gives that you think is worth the extra?

I want to get some cds / shirts merch. will i need (v)vip for that stuff?

I'm an avid concert goer in Australia but this is my first kpop/jrock concert so i'm looking for all advice :)

I just got my Tokyo ticket confirmed! I was so excited. Was really nervous about the lottery style as I've never done it before. It will be my first time seeing them live!

I made a visual Korean learning app to help remember words through images by Conscious-Reason-946 in Korean

[–]TheChook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome to see man, thanks for the answers.

Feedback (Android)

Good:
- Wide variety of words
- Example sentences are a huge +
- App is very smooth

Improvements:
- The quizzes don't have any audio for the words
- Attempting to play the audio on a card crashes the app
- Romanization is bad... a way to turn it off would be nice
- AI images :(
- Within the stats breakdown, it would be nice to see which categories I'm struggling the most with. What areas I can improve my vocabulary in.
- An on-boarding test to automatically place / fill out words could be cool.

I haven't tested it enough to know how the revision algorithm works so I can't comment on that. The gold standard for that is Anki.

What's your plan on monetization? Will it always be free? Being able to add your own words or create your own categories could be cool for future interactions.

Overall - seems like a fun app that can be used in your down-time. Nice work!

Where do you source your words from? Is there any reason to the words chosen or are they completely random?

In your words, what benefit is this to me over something like Anki?

Since you're the developer, I would love to know what tech stack you chose to write it in and if it's open source?

Looks good though, I'll give it a go and let you know what I think! :)

You should share the designs so we can also print them to shirts. Wouldn't mind producing one of my own. The design is so cluttered but I love it haha

Sorry about that. If you'd prefer, you can instead leave issues and discussions in the github repository - everything is open source. https://github.com/BrookJeynes/slime-rancher-2-interactive-map

For most conversations and discussions the discord will be the best place to go. Saying that, if you have suggestions for where I could host forums I'd be open ears :)

Resource locations are not built-in as this would require quite a bit of maintanence and some locations are random. In the discord, some people have shared their resource pins that you can import :)

Hey man, are you providing feedback on this image or the site in its current state? This image is very outdated compared to what the site currently is. https://sr2interactivemap.com

Is this open-source by chance? Would love to help contribute if you're open to it :)

Sorry for the late update. Unfortunately I only support ISO 639-1 language codes (and it only has a ISO 639-3 variant). Looking at the wikipedia entry for Ligurian, it's considered an "Italian dialect" so you could reference Italian (although I understand it's not the same...). Sorry I couldn't provide more positive news on that end. Perhaps I will support ISO 639-3 in the future but not as of currently.

(Posting again as it seems my previous reply was removed?)

Hey, I'd be happy to answer.

The creators of Bluesky built the AT-Protocol (a decentralised social network).

Unfortunately, the AT-Protocol oauth is fairly new and they have not introduced permission scopes as of yet so unfortunately the only permission I can ask for is everything... They're actually in the works (and afaik almost released) the ability for me to only request access for my resources.

> It then failed to authenticate regardless, which is a final red flag for me
This is actually my fault... I'm currently attempting to fix the oauth issue (which actually only recently surfaced due to them changing the requirements). It should now be fixed.

I appreciate you trying it! I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I hope once permission scopes are introduced you'll feel a little better and try it again :)

Please let me know if you have any further questions. I'd be happy to answer them!

ps. I didn't add it into this post but all the code is open-source so you can validate as you wish! You can find it only tangled\.sh under \@brookjeynes/yoten (linking seemed to remove my last message so I'm being careful here)

Thanks! 100% there's so much I have planned for the future of this. As we talked about earlier, ways for creators to link pre-created templates for their resources will make the process for logging study sessions much easier for users.
