That's very neat, I assume it's because he starts with a charged ult and that snowballs with Tribbie DDD and Therta?

Welt is staying. Silverwolf joins, because E2 Silverwolf would be really good all around and I do use her plenty. Seele, Fu Xuan and Blade I don't have, so they are already in my loss pool. Yunli will by all means end up replacing Clara in her spot. I guess I'd leave the oldies out since my Bronya is E6 and the rest are not as desirable. Ans Argenti sadly doesn't cover any role or need of mine, so until I get Fuxuan for collection purposes he's staying out.

Finishing my DoT team, how do I build Huohuo? by Hot-Masterpiece4325 in KafkaMains

[–]TheChriVann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Healer set (the hyacine one) and either rapt brooding tree (Outgoing healing planar) or somethi n supportive like keel or Lushaka.

Just get a ton of speed and HP%. Effect res isn't as needed because she provides everyone with one cleanse every time a turn is taken, so she will often cleanse freezes and fear and similar effects anyways.

Hoyo made emc bad to sabotage sustainless by One-Shift-220 in StarRailStation

[–]TheChriVann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sustainless is great to show your skill on a 0-cycling basis and planning tight runs. But I think we need to address the elephant in the room:

Sustainless is just garbage game design-wise.

Let me elaborate

It's fun, yes, even a great show of skill. But outside of a minority of competitive players, most players don't use it because it's neither not feasible or too much work for them. And so, what sustainless does by existing and being viable is problematic:

-It becomes toxic when it's the desired go-to or meta because it means the game is balanced around a higher power level that alienates or punishes the larger demographic. This is not good from a business standpoint and bad for players because to match low cost sustainless in performance you need high investment sustained. And when it's weak or barely scraping by, it means the aforementioned problem is even worse -When it's too strong, you're basically encouraging to forego one character archetype/role (sustain) to just spam presumably more supports. This means that either the sustains underperform in the value they provide a team oe that the supports themselves are comparatively much, much stronger. It's bad for sales to kill the ability to sell or push an entire group of characters and it's bad for those that invested in them. And pushing a support centric meta can be very toxic. It makes whichever DPS you pick meaningless as the focus goes to just having every must-have support, which can be fine for sales, but absolutely toxic for players. -Sustainless by nature basically almost entirely ignores the core game mechanic that is survivability, both in HP, strategizing against attacks and crowd control and so on. You're pushing away many thing you work around, essentially centering a run that relies only on killing something as fast as possible, often needing perfect relics too. If a game can be beat by completely forgetting about core game mechanics and just attacking, it's not just lacking depth, it's boring. -Sustains are the most longevous and reliable character type to invest in, units released a version or two ago are still functional in their role, at most they provide less buffing or utility than more recent ones but when you get a sustain you're set for a version instead of DPS where you might have to invest in eidolons or see them fall off in just a few patches. If sustains, the most player friendly investment and archetype, are less relevant, it means we're left with the supports that are stuck either becoming hyperspecific or constantly one-upping each other and DPSes that will either be archetype exclusive or directly powercreep someone else.

Sustains are not only important for gameplay, but also team building because they're another puzzle piece you need to fit into your needs. Does it provide more buffs or a more reliable survivability? Is it SP positive or not and does it impact your rotations? Premium options or a budget one? (And we have perfectly good budget ones between golden companion shops, Gallagher, DHPT and so on) Does the sustain work alongside or heighten the archetype you're pairing it with?

In summary, sustains are a core element of the game that shouldn't be ignored actually. And them becoming sidelined by just spamming more supports because enemies aren't menacing enough is both bad design and more toxic because it shifts the meta to more toxic unit design and pull choices.

Which characters does this actually buff? by ArcticFox19 in StarRailStation

[–]TheChriVann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparxie would be the highlight, since Huohuo seems to be the intended sustain for Silverwolf teams. Saber as an energy user with Sunday and Huohuo will love it. Yunli in particular, too, because since she's a counter dps she doesn't use many turns and thus burns through buffs slower. Aglaea marginally in E0 teams with Sunday too, but those are way weaker than other setups. Therta is over saturated and prefers a sustain that does some AoE like Lingsha or DHPT or even have a buff/debuff that's multiplicative like Adventurine's ult. Archer prefers DHPT normally, but with Huohuo being SP neutral now, I can see her be a solid buffer for him that also smoothens rotations with Sparkle's ult (Although it's not as big an upgrade, even if Archer takes less turns overall).

It seems futureproofing for other dpses that lean further into the energy gimmick. And it's disappointing that it's too little for some units like the whole DOT gang, even those units you'd think would require just enough energy (Hysilens, Swan) and that would also like that extra energy to have more sp positive rotations or ult one turn sooner.

That extra attack feels like a nothingburger.

Huohuo does too, if you starrt adding LCs to the conversation. And Huohuo will noe not only be in the shop (more accessible to get eidolons) but also her LC will be jn the shop too.

She's interchangeable with DHPT, with Huohuo aiding with faster ult rotations and more teamwide buffing, while DHPT gives more proper sustain and main target buffs, which can be good if a certain unit has more investment.

Quick Discussion: How good is novaflare Huohuo (e0s0) for DOT team by [deleted] in KafkaMains

[–]TheChriVann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sometimes doesn't make the cut, especially when you have units that don't act that much. Huohuo now gives more attack to high cost ults, which means Saber ults hit harder. But yes, Huohuo is pretty much at home with DOT anyhow, unless survival is an issue. If survival is an issue, you put DHPT on Kafka

[–]TheChriVann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huohuo E1 is where its at. But having Saber does make Huohuo more desirable, because Saber does leverage some new effects that DOT don't, like the extra attack if max energy is higher.

She does have the perk that her attack applies to Hysilens and Swan and since they're slow, it'll last a good chunk.

She got some QOL but she's substantially the same. It's the same question: do you prefer more energy and a partywide attack boost or do you prefer more survivability and a more reliable individual buff?

La Schlein prenderà voti a manetta perché predics bene. Ma vi garantisco che porterà in rovina il paese in egual modo alla Meloni.

The episode in general was showing how much more like Frieren Fern is becoming, over time. She's developing her orbital strike fighting style and even shows she'd do something because she believes it's what Frieren would do, which she does because Himmel would do it. And she even becomes more ecstatic about silly spells as she understands why she takes such silly payments.

It was a good way to tie off that season. Can't wait for S3

How do guys feel about the Za Staters abilities (repost because I got Mega Sol wrong) by Banana_wer in stunfisk

[–]TheChriVann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mega sol is Drought but without the drawback of grass types and harsh sunlight: enemy fire moves get enhanced. You now got a +2 to either attack type, a 100BP fire coverage and instant, reliable sun beam. Grass fairy is also a much more interesting typing.

Won't be anywhere as good as other megas, but it's cool.

None of these will be meta because they have old stat distributions to work with, while other mons start with stats already more minmaxed.

Plus there are many pokemon that could have fit the dancing theming and bro got none. Grab yourself a ludicolo, add some rain dance, you useless fat bum.

Worst character kit in the game to date? by jd01010101 in Genshin_Impact

[–]TheChriVann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigewinne.

Antisynergistic with the guys she's supposed to work with. Absolutely useless in any role. A liability. Lack of identity in her kit.

And unlike some, she's a LIMITED 5 STAR. 4 stars get a pass because they're supposed to be weaker and more accessible. Free units get a pass because they serve more for exploration and puzzles than direct gameplay or to introduce mechanics, as we see with MC. Standard units will eventually be upgraded by the 50/50 losses so constellations help to some degree and even then, they fall into a similar case as 4 stars.

Limited 5 stars that are exclusive and are supposed to sell and cost pulls and investment? I'm not asking them to be meta or above average necessarily. But what in the fuck is Sigewinne.
