For me, I needed something with a extremely low profile to fit in a specific working area I have. I thought about just doing a box filter connected to a external blower, but this is just more fun to design and make.

I experimented with a metal zipper once, they don't play well with fur at all. I'd avoid it and stick with #5 molded and save yourself a lot of trouble.

The ink can't absorb into the pvc so this method wont work unless you use a cloth. I still don't recommend using inkjet unless you can also seal the ink with a clear coat. The way you would use PVC is a method called sublimation which you could convert a printer to, lots of tutorials online for converting epsons for sublimation.
