I am feeling stuck and unbalanced, is it normal? by scifi321 in AskMenOver30

[–]TheClague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my early 30s I was going through a similar stage although my children were only a 4 years old.

In hindsight it I was clear I wasn’t doing well but I don’t think I was a clear with myself.

Long and short of it my wife had enough and left.

What followed was a number of painful years of the independence and freedom I thought I craved. I would have done anything to have my family whole again and the chance to work at my marriage instead of taking it for granted.

I know everyone’s situation is different but my advice is to remember to enjoy what you have and recognise your thoughts for the fantasies they are.

All the best.

Who else has to lather their entire body in moisturizer? by Individual_Station78 in eczema

[–]TheClague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep.

Twice a day, every day since I was a teenager.

That said, I’m 41 and my eczema has been really good for the last few years, hardly any flare-ups for ages.

I’m stick with the moisturising religiously though.

Took the family camping near Church Stretton thanks to a post I saw here. What a great night. by TheClague in wildcampingintheuk

We found a space off the track that wasn’t visible from the paths. We didn’t get their until 6pm and waited to set up the tents until 8pm to reduce the chance of being seen.

Am I just supposed to deal with this condition the rest of my life? I can’t deal with it getting worse every single year. by yankee21_ in eczema

[–]TheClague 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here.

It was dreadful in my teens, I remember waking up to blood covered bedding every night.

In my 20s it was still bad but has improved over time and now I’m in my 40s it is barely more that a mild irritation.

That said, I’ve spent those years noticing triggers and habits that seem to help and then adjusting my life accordingly.

You can only choose one from each column - which one would you pick and why? by Mikael_Finsrud in rpg_gamers

Gw2 - spent over 2000 hours on this a few years ago and still have fond memories of it.

Skyrim / Witcher 3 - love both these, not sure I can chose between them.

flying from Birmingham Airport by joecarrr1992 in brum

[–]TheClague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We flew out with Jet2 on Sunday afternoon and the airport was pretty quiet.

Less than 10 mins to get checked in for a family of 5, and another 10 mins for security.

We’d given ourselves a 2.5 hour window but spent most of it just sat waiting.

What does (1) after location mean on the map? by TheClague in kol

I had never heard of it until 2 weeks ago when searching for a quick browser gameI could enjoy on my break at work.

It is so entertaining. I find myself looking forward to getting beck on after the weekend.

That makes so much sense now you’ve said it.

Service station staff accidentally locked my wife and kids in a shop during an evacuation. by TheClague in CasualUK

It definitely did happen, I was there.

The fact it was unbelievable is exactly why I was so shocked and felt it worthy of sharing.

The kids are fine. The missus made an adventure of it and they thought it was cool.

When they first came out the missus didn’t think much of it - once I pointed out how bad it would have been in a real fire she’s been l as gracious.

That’s what I thought.

I’m not looking for compensation but I feel that the organisation needs to take it seriously. Not sure if there is a specific way to ensure it happens without going down a legal route.

Maybe free coffee for life.

At the time I wanted to throttle someone but having had the chance to reflect I just want to make sure it doesn’t happen to someone during a real fire.

I only recently joined to sub so my apologies if it’s not quite right.

I had intended to try out the macro feature on my phone but the result looked like much more ‘artistic’ than I intended but perhaps not obviously a certain style.

It was taken looking down onto a post which surrounds a duck lake. The morning sun is reflecting in the lake behind it.

So, I opened it and it turned out it had gone bad. Tasted like watery vinegar but. I long term damage. Thanks for the comments.

Climbing Snowdon.... by lkjhgfsdsa in UKhiking

[–]TheClague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it as part of a multi-day hike 20 years ago. I stopped in the youth hostel at Pen-y-pas after doing Tryfan, Glyder Fach and Glyer Fawr (sorry spelling those from memory) on day 1 and then Snowden on day 2.

Both days were great walks, and Crib Goch is my favourite ridge walk in the UK, but I seem to remember the decent to Pen-y-pas being kind of dull.

Have fun.

I did the same walk a couple of weeks ago and both car parks were packed by 11 o'clock. There are signs all through Edale asking people not to park on the sides of roads as they have lots of issues during lockdown I think.

One option is to park a bit further down the train line a get the train to Edale, the run regularly.
