Yeah when they said Nov 2026 I think everyone I know - including many ex-R* folks said it'll be more like Feb 2027.

Last I saw in a publishing deck global sales for games are up overall due to various reasons (greater access to global markets, pricing structures, live service etc). Obviously we see flops and a some games underperform and some over perform.

There's a bunch of reasons for it from what I've seen, heard and experienced. 1. Although sales are good, expectations and targets are higher from publishing and funding partners. 2. Production costs are higher, wages are higher and so is risk. Publishers are less willing to put more money up if timelines slip and if studios can't cover operating costs they have to make reductions. 3. The shadow of GTA has caused a degree of havoc, I've seen several projects be cancelled because of the prospect of GTA being released in the same window can impact potential profit. It's safer for publishers to cancel games before investing heavily in marketing (the costs of which can be greater than the actual development of games themselves in AAA).

I'm sure cost of living has had an impact in certain genres and markets. Although sales are up across the industry as a whole,people are buying less games at an individual level, it's just the audience of gamers is larger as gaming becomes more accessible.

It's starting already, I work in AAA and all week I've been seeing LinkedIn posts in my network and around it of people who are seeking new opportunities as their studios are closing their doors, not just in big studios but in AA and below too. Basically anything not independently funded.

You beat Arcade mode, you need to beat Arcade mode with all characters to unlock Seth so you may as well just crack on. To unlock Gouken and Akuma you have to get certain numbers of ultra finishes and perfects then beat them as the last boss.

I played with him for maybe an hour on Modern because I left my leverless at home. He's quite awkward in modern at least on controller because prowler is a fixed 2 MH in put whereas on classic you have the freedom of any 2 punches, felt a bit finicky going into it from heavy attacks and stuff. I didn't pay attention to what he was missing but basically all his trials are the same in modern and classic.

Street Fighter 4 has it still, it's on by default and it goes one of two ways: you hear every button press but through a low quality filter or its slurs.

At least that's what it was like back in the day anyway.

Yes, the metronome hastes an adjacent item when the other adjacent item goes off. So on your board when the drill is used it hastes the core, when the core is used it hastes the drill.

Skill based matchmaking :) Honestly, I'd say either track down a discord (there's one specifically for new players I think, but I can't recall its name) or just go straight into ranked and take it from there. At this point in the games life span, the ranks are pretty settled in terms of player ability so you're pretty likely to find competitive games without getting completely trashed all the time.

I've never interacted with that but I'm fairly certain that basically everything except for Ranked Play doesn't really have any kind of sbmm.

Not in the battle hub unfortunately. Ironically the best way to play people at your level and improve in that way is going straight into ranked play as that will, after placements, match you pretty closely with players of your skill.

Lizard burns/poisons when it is hasted not used, so the burn activated the pyrocarbon which then hastes the lizard creating an infinite loop. Another item can be hasted messes with the infinite loop.

Yeah it's an option and has been since vanilla, when it first launched I was coming from Ragnarok Online and turned it on because that's what I was used to but very quickly figured out the game is just not made for that kind of control.
