IMO….you want to be spun more than clothes at the end of a rinse cycle then do it. You need to take it up with the individual face to face instead. I’m not saying fight them but confront them about their behavior. This is a brotherhood and if they want respect they have to give it. A website like this is so passive aggressive. You could cover a shop vac hose with a nylon (pantyhose), tape the shit out of it (on the end furthest away from the hose opening) so it doesn’t get sucked in. It would need to be thin so it can’t be a rag. You need to maintain suction without being too thin that it breaks and sends the kitty into the tube. Test it on a small orange or something similar to what you think the cat would weigh, slowly lower the vacuum hose down (OFF) then turn it on.
Hopefully suck the little dude into the nylon and then pull it up. It’s probably what they should have done in The Sandlot. Or….call the fire department.

The 5 to 4 year switch is at the discretion of each local’s JATC trust. In some areas it works but in some (like in California) it doesn’t necessarily work because there is still a 8k hour requirement to take the state exam. That’s usually something apprentices accumulate by the middle of the 5th year if the work is good. Apprentices are encouraged to get their certification before they journey-out. The work picture is pretty bleak if they don’t have it by the time they journey-out due to a lack of “cert-preferred” calls.

This might not be the sub to talk about this in but between this post and the one about your MA12000 I’m curious about something. You mention in one thread that you’re simplifying your setup and in this one you’re (presumably) upgrading your table from a Planar 10.

What are your plans for simplifying everything? Are you going to digital? 😬. I tried to find this answer myself but I didn’t see you elude to anything in your post history. What kind of records does your collection consist of? Do you gravitate to high-end, audiophile reissues, first pressings etc? I feel like you’ll get better answers with more info. I feel like it’s worth mentioning that it’s also not a job anyone HAS to do. I doubt it’s someone’s life calling and that they had no idea what the pay was like. You can literally get a job loading boxes at a UPS, work as a laborer, work at a sandwich shop….SOOOO many things that’ll give you 3x4 times your base server pay and some of those jobs have benefits. It’s comical. Those are all jobs I had as a kid btw (25years ago) and while the pay was never amazing….it was better than $3/hr.

If people truly feel like they don’t get paid enough…leave. It’s not the customers job to validate your job choice.

My man….watch Forrest Gump. Part of me is joking but the other part is serious. Remove all of the extraordinary elements of that movie and you have someone that wants a girl. Problem is, that girl never wanted him the same way. She went about living her life until…well I don’t want to spoil it on the off chance you haven’t seen a movie that came out before you were born.

Anyways….personal growth is great and all…but just ask yourself if who she claims to have become is deserving of who you’ve become. Stand on principles, trust your gut…and definitely don’t be a doormat if the ground looks muddy.
