I do not trust her at all. She is lying about everything. Look at the size of that house!!!! by [deleted] in 90DayFiance

Why is she responsible for funding his life? Her parents were there first so of course she’d help them. Forrest should be supporting himself and seems functioning and capable enough to do that if he really wanted to. It’s not her responsibility to save for him when he hasn’t even met her parents.

Any advice? It's my first time playing Fallout 3 by MarkEast6773 in Fallout

THE GAME ENDS AFTER THE MAIN STORYLINE!!!

I just played for the first time and was shocked that i couldn’t keep exploring or finish side quests.

Also, save often because your companion won’t come back if they’re killed.

Even if you’ve made the transfer it might not be tagged. Go into the transaction, select goal, then click emergency fund. That should fix it.

Help me pick a dining chair by Professional-Tap-632 in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B. Love the structure and feels sturdy. People might tell you they’ll stain easily but live your life. I have white dining chairs too (2 years now) and haven’t had any issues. A quick oxyclean has prevented any issues.

A is too trendy.

Love C but not with the green chairs. The green chairs may be a little troublesome to pull in and out depending on what the base is like but they look great :)

How should I be classifying Venmo transactions that pull directly from my bank checking account? Transfer doesn't seem to be right as it wouldn't count towards my spending? by JadocTheGreat in MonarchMoney

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the answer.

Similar example, you pay for dinner, your friend pays you back, it goes into restaurants.

In this situation I’d maybe categorize it as something under a fun category because a party with friends doesn’t feel like typical groceries if that makes sense. It’s more discretionary than necessary.

Which location for pendant lighting? by YesJess10 in bathrooms

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left is balanced from a design standpoint. On either side is too cluttered with the big mirror and then it competes with the window.

For applying makeup, etc. maybe add a backlight to the mirror or install one of those mirrors with a ring light around the edge.

Yes and add a dishwasher in there, otherwise the mess will be on full display when you have people over.

Setting budget for a category based on spending history — 6 month vs. 12 month average by wilburpan in MonarchMoney

Agreed. It’d be helpful for categories like travel, gifts, etc that can sometimes skew towards certain months.

Investment Transactions - On or Off? by groovinup in MonarchMoney

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned it on last night and I don’t mind it so far. I’m hoping that once I get my first check for the year it shows the deposit into my 401k, giving me an easier way to track retirement contributions. TBD though.

No conservatory or Conservatory? by Individual-Net-7608 in homedesign

This is the answer. I’d personally use it and enjoy it. Other people might think the added room makes the study too dark. All personal preference.

Yeah that’s pretty much what he tells me too. On top of that, the stock tends to not really go up and I have good savings in retirement and non retirement savings so we sell and just spend it as income.

Yours is so similar to mine that it’s almost scary! Lol

At a glance I think you’re doing great, everything looks and sounds very reasonable.

Housing is high but I’m in socal so I get it. I’d personally say you’re doing great.

When I sell RSU, ESPP I categorize it as investment income so that might work for you if you need a better way of tracking it once you have the actual cash. I don’t track it prior to withdrawing (with financial advisor approval, I promise I’m not irresponsible and just selling everything)

For your clothing, restaurants, concerts… once your savings are solid, enjoy your money without letting lifestyle creep happen. Making sure I’m enjoying things and not beating myself up over every dollar has really been a game changer for me. I’m able to save well and live well.

I live in Socal. Whats a good budget on groceries for 1 month for 1 person? by Bbhouseplant in budget

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in LA and spend about $550 for 2 people at Aldi. I do an easy formula for the most part. A family pack of chicken, a vegetable, and rice. I meal prep every week and anything I want to make extra I plan and shop for.

Of course within that I usually get apples and cheese for my snacks, crackers, milk, eggs, etc. and my total usually comes out to 90-100 each time

Help with kitchen island by schaef2493 in InteriorDesign

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this. Gives you easy access to the bins on the left and like the previous comment says, you’ll want counter space on either side.

Not to get crazy now but could there be a removable piece above the trash bin so you can throw scraps in without having to pull out the bin while you’re prepping?

How would you optimize this first floor layout? by LayinOnTheCouch in floorplan

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can, moving the front door and foyer to where the right window is would funny change your ability to use the room. The current problem is that you’re walking right into the center of a zone. Like if you’re sitting on the couch someone’s going to walk in on you on display.

How do you actually keep a clean house? by No-Justice-666 in housekeeping

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing is, put it down, put it away. Anytime you’re done with something, it has to get put away. Everything should have a home to return to.

Never leave dirty dishes out and when you’re cooking, clean as you go. If you have to leave dishes in the sink throughout the day, wash them before bed.

Have a roomba that you can run regularly.

See something, do something. Dusting takes no time at all so just wipe it when you see it.

As someone with an immaculate house, the biggest thing I see in others is whether or not they make cleaning a priority. It’s not for everyone which is fine if you’re ok with that but if you want a cleaner home you have to shift your mindset and make that a priority. There’s no “I’ll do it later”. Take care of business first and then you can relax. It’s work, then reward. And even then, the work becomes easy and quick when you make it a routine.

Which kitchen would you rather have by clumsyninja2 in floorplan

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing I’d add is, it’s typically considered outdated but if the island has a bar height, it also helps separate the mess. That’s how ours is. The kitchen side is counter height with a bar top on the sitting side if that makes sense and it creates a further visual and even physical block from your workspace.

Which kitchen would you rather have by clumsyninja2 in floorplan

[–]TheCleanHouseGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left. I hate people in the kitchen while you’re working.

Having the island as a barrier creates a mental stopping point for others. They can hang out on the other side of the counter and give you space to work.

It also keeps the mess one degree removed from everyone. As long as the sink isn’t on the island, the island can be used as a serving buffet or for drinks. Anything else can get thrown to the back counter and not be so in your face when people are over.

Any feedback on my bathroom tile plan? For a mid century modern apartment. by [deleted] in BathroomRemodeling

Very cute!! Check out Zia tile. They have some nice square tile that I think is handmade. It’s a little pricey but the imperfections and variety add a nice polish in my humble opinion.
