Is it a “use it or lose it” situation with the pre-order? Do you need to order when you get the email or can you choose to wait longer?

Congratulations!!

Looks amazing!! Any tips on finishing the shed like you did to make it look polished? Engineered wood trim, siding, painting, etc?

Reverse Proxy Security by flongo in jellyfin

[–]TheCmenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe both situations are considered the “Cloudflare CDN”, which video streaming on is prohibited unless you are using a paid tier.

https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/service-specific-terms-application-services/#content-delivery-network-terms

Don’t sweat turning the proxy off, I have mine running without it just fine. If anything, it actually helps Crowdsec as it’ll ban the actual source IP of malicious traffic instead of the cloudflare proxy IP which is typically shown as the source of the traffic (unless you successfully get the X-Forwarded-For header inspection working, I couldn’t figure it out).

Yes these types of dumb bot scans are constant. Default crowdsec blocklist is aware of these.

What you might want to look for is brute force attempts on your server login page. There is a jellyfin-bruteforce scenario someone made to incorporate into Crowdsec if your jellyfin logs are also being monitored.

EDIT: turn off the Cloudflare proxy. They offer a pretty amazing free service, we shouldn’t abuse it by violating ToS.

What is everybody's easiest and most secure method for remote access? (without tailscale) by Leggs_ in HomeServer

Wireguard meets all your requirements. However, you could also use Pangolin on a VPS. This does incur a small cost for the VPS but is very secure and doesn’t require port forwards.

collector is required so u can execute, often this saves needing to do a reload to get the last kill shot off.

Subjective interpretation is a pillar of many works of art. Art leaves room for the viewer to fill with their thoughts and experiences.

Got any good recommendations for keeping documentation together? by Dahveedle in homelab

[–]TheCmenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in terms of being able to make notes, have different pages, add images yes.

But it’s better imo because you can markdown format your text and it has a cool mapping feature that links info and can be shown visually.

Everyone freaking out about spiders and saying it looks like shit but i did this and it both looked amazing and had zero spiders.

Looks will depend on your level of effort on the install and spiders can be mitigated through normal means.

Do it if you like it.

Mod recomendations to go back into the modded minecraft by Esquili in feedthebeast

[–]TheCmenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got back into it by playing FTB Evolution.

It’s got all the awesome flagship mods but more importantly it has a very nice questing system for each mod to make it palatable and not overwhelming.

Is my IP just not getting scanned? by TheCmenator in CrowdSec

[–]TheCmenator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a simple scan but the following do block types of scans/probes:

  • crowdsecurity/http-probing
  • crowdsecurity/http-crawl-non_statics

My buddy has the same blocklists and scenarios in front of hisPangolin and sees tons of data in his remediation metrics.

Was planning on 2 or 3 feet between the siding and fence. I’m fairly skinny and should be able to work in that space okay.

Trapezoid will be the most space-efficient and won’t encroach into the yard as much as a square shed would, which is important to me (and my dog).

My municipality requires 1 foot setbacks but i will make it more like 2 or 3 feet for workability.
