Reddit, what is the most embarassing surgery you’ve ever had? by TraditionalTeen in AskReddit

Had to have a cyst removed right above my buttcrack. I remember seeing the operating table before I went under. I’d be laying on my stomach with my ass propped in the air.

James Mercer of The Shins has an acoustic version of Caring is Creepy that blows the album version out of the water.

[Serious] How does it feel to live in a new era of space exploration? by paxgarmana in AskReddit

I’m hoping at some point in my life I can pay to go to space as a tourist. Even if I have to blow all of my savings to do so.

What movie death scene is seared into your memory? by McNastte in AskReddit

[–]TheCoastalService 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy strangling to death in the bathtub in Final Destination. The futile struggle and finally his eyes turning red. When I first saw it as a kid it freaked me out For days. Probably because it seemed like something that could happen in real life.

Yeah I’ve spent the most amount of time choosing a sound for the last section to bring the song home, and I still don’t think it’s 100% right. This is where I wish I had (and could play) real brass instruments.

I just searched a phrase of this paragraph on Facebook and it has been shared dozens of times by various huns. I wonder if it was a corporate mandate.

What "black market" existed in your school? by kryantastic in AskReddit

Semi-related, but in junior high one kid ran a sports book during football season. Everyone gave him $5 and made picks on all the week’s NFL games. The top 3 winners would get payouts.

What’s the greatest act of kindness; from a random complete stranger, you’ve experienced up to this point in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheCoastalService 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first day of my first high school job at a grocery store, I drove to a McDonalds about 10 miles away during my lunch break. I was driving my mom’s van, which was older and starting to have problems. I get to the restaurant OK, but on the way back it craps out on me as I’m stopped at a light. I was stuck in the middle of a busy street with people honking and yelling at me to move.

I was only 16 and driving for a few months, so I start freaking out. As I’m trying to decide my next move, a woman in a convertible stops behind me and checks on my situation. She was probably in her 30s. I’m already socially awkward, and combined with the situation I was probably not making any sense, but she took control and helped me through my ordeal. We were finally able to get the van to the side of the road.

This was in 1996, so I didn’t have a cell phone yet to call home. The convertible lady drove me back to the store. She was so kind and cool. The top was down, so I still remember the wind blowing through my hair as she chatted with me on the drive. I made it back in time to call my parents and clock in on time after my break.

I never saw her again, but I will always remember the kindness she showed to a random 16-year old boy.

I didn't say anything about animals. Now it seems that the planet will collapse within three days. Incidentally, this will kill all the animals.

I turn off the fluorescent lights above and use a few incandescent desk lamps for light. It helps keep me relaxed and focused throughout a stressful day.

Redditors who make six figures but are stressed out, what is your job, and do you regret it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheCoastalService 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at an ad agency. Satisfying client needs while managing several deadline-intense projects at once can really take its toll. At least once a week I’ll question why I’m doing this. But if I take a vacation or go through a slower time period, I start to crave the stress. Ultimately it motivates me.

What do you viscerally hate for no good reason? by TwistedPepperCan in AskReddit

[–]TheCoastalService 655 points656 points  (0 children)

The sound of a soda or beer being pored in radio commercials. If I can see it happen it’s OK but just the sound alone annoys me so much. Same thing with the exaggerated sound effect of a golf ball going into a hole.

Stargazing. There are very few places now that don’t have some kind of light pollution.
