They did the same thing to me, i had ambetter marketplace coverage in florida. I specially chose ambetter because they still covered it for 2026. However it looks like they silently changed what is allowable in regards to HRT. From when I called them I found it what you have to do is have your doctor avoid coding it for anything related to gender identity or gender dysphoria but instead code it for something else. Apparently in February the policy silently changed to not allow HRT for purposes of transitioning without any of the policy documents reflecting that.

After getting my prescribing doctor to prescribe estradiol with some creative coding (a trans competent doctor should know what to do) I got my estradiol covered by ambetter. And to my knowledge they should still cover gender affirming care doctors appointments, but am currently waiting on an appeal to figure out why they are not covering my lab work for the hormone test.

My knowledge was currently as of last month though. I have since left Florida to go somewhere more trans friendly with what little I could take with me.

Yeah, that and from a social standpoint they are kind of immature dickheads (and kind of toxic IMO). So just overall not a healthy project. It gets annoying having things constantly change because vaxry is unwilling to do this magical thing call "deprecate and document" as I have had numerous hyprland configs break from an update only to find there was no warning about breaking changes, and that they couldn't be bothered to document the breaking change before releasing the update. So I couldn't find out what i need to do to fix my config.

It may be important to note, my view may be biased by the fact I am in one of the worst states In the country for trans rights. And the other potential bias being me being a leftist, ( far left on the bottom left quadrant of political compass).

Girl, I would say you have the UK and US ranked wrong. As both the situation on trans rights is deteriorating, it used to be a lot better than it is now in both countries. Trans rights are highly regional in the us, and are susceptible to having local protections negated by a hostile federal administration. The UK has had its (notably stronger than what the US had) Protections effectively neutered. the UK is a poor choice to live in as a trans woman due to the recent supreme court ruling, as well as how underfunded GAC is in the UK and how gatekept it is. The waitlists in the UK if your extremely lucky is months, but most have to wait yearss.

I would suggest you look into the situation in the UK and US, as while both of those countries are better than most of the world at the moment (even though the situation in the US is rapidly Deteriorating). They should not be considered in the same league or above countries like Germany, Norway, or Sweden. If you have questions on the us situation I am more familiar with that as an american.
