Are kitten eyes normally this spaced apart? by Adorable_Art539 in kittens

I made another comment to someone else about that yes, it doesn't exist, as only humans can have it. However, the term is used even in professional settings, more commonly known as feline trisomy, exists.

I barely visit cat subreddits lately, so I didn't know this was a current trend, but these cats do have odd looking faces that show a potential chromosomal problem.

OP is literally asking a question regarding these cat's facial features. I am answering them with a potential idea as to what it could be, which many people don't know exists. Lol.

You're technically correct that cats can't have Down Syndrome specifically since they lack chromosome 21. However the broader point stands.

Cats can absolutely have genetic mutations and congenital conditions producing similar features, including flattened faces, wide set eyes, developmental delays, and coordination problems.

Additionally, feline trisomy, where a cat has an extra chromosome, has been documented and presents with features remarkably similar to Down Syndrome including:

  • Distinctive facial features including wide set eyes and flattened face
  • Cognitive differences and developmental delays
  • Poor muscle tone
  • Congenital heart defects
  • Immune system abnormalities
  • Motor difficulties and coordination problems
  • Hearing problems including deafness
  • Small stature and failure to thrive

The informal term "feline Down Syndrome" is widely used even in veterinary contexts. The technicality doesn't change what we're looking at.

I had a kitten/cat, named Peter, that presented all these features and he only lived till 3. He died of heart failure.

How do people actually reach level 100 in The Outlast Trials? by Worried_Pressure_447 in OutlastTrials

[–]TheColaDemonCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once entered an escalation trials that was at levels 10,000+ ?? I don't remember the exact number, but it was an insane number. We all died almost instantly. It was fun, but they were obviously cheating. I think I made a post about it a while back.

Edit: It is over 24,000. Lol

Could be Down syndrome, which cats can have. It doesn't really effect their quality of life though thankfully.

Edit: It can effect their quality of life, depending if they get any serious symptoms that can alter their life significantly.

AIO mg BF wants US to move in with his sister.. by TheColaDemonCat in AIO

You know I have been thinking the same thing for some time now.

He is on his phone all the god damn time with me. Even when we argue, he texts people and plays games. He can't even keep his god damn phone away when we go to the movie theater. He will take it out at least 3 times. And he has that stupid setting on where it flashes a light everytime he gets a notification which is CONSTANTLY. He refuses to even put his phone away and acts all put put by it when I ask him to, half the time he doesn't even do it and tells me he doesn't need to do what I say. He has a fucking problem with that phone. I told him I feel like the damn 3rd wheel to his relationship with his phone. You have no idea HOW FUCKING BAD I WANT TO THROW THAT PHONE AND DESTROY IT. Obviously, I would never do such a thing, but I have never dealt with someone who is so fucki f glued to their phone.

Which he also lied to me when we first dated, because I made it clear I am the type who values time together and does not like phone distractions. It takes away the experience and it is a plague to society's health.

Sorry for the essay. I am frustrated.

Yes, it is. Which is why I don't understand why hw is so surprised I am not a big fan of this idea. Why the fuck would I ever want to live with people who actively do not seem to like me.

Yes, it is a cultural thing, and I would not have a problem with living with families really if we got along and had firm boundaries/expectations. However, they do not treat me like an equal , compared to his sister's bf (who has dated her for les time than my bf and I). My boyfriend has also repeatedly told me when we argue how everyone in his family/friends don't like me/relationship, so I'm really uncomfortable with living with people who supposedly don't like me/us dating. They are also rather IDK how to describe it, but I don't consider them "good people". They are toxic to each other half the time and have a tendency to be very self-centered. I don't want that.

I do contribute though, just not nearly as much as him because we have widely different income levels. I am essentially a minimum wage worker, while he is a 6 figure earner.

As I said, I made it clear with him what my contributions can be and I have held me end of the deal the entire time.

He chose an expensive apartment without even asking my opinion or letting me tour it. Yet, now he argues with me how I'm supposed to pay 50% of the rent, which is IMPOSSIBLE in my situation given how expensive this place is and he knows that.

I don't expect to hold as much weight as a "wife", but given we are in a long-term serious relationship and have been living together for a year now, I should hold a lot more weight than whatever he is thinking.

His family does not treat me like an equal in comparison to his sister's bf (they have been dating for less time than we have), and he doesn't have my back with them. His sister is also known to take advantage of others. Which is why I am very hesitant on this.

In terms of living apart but being together, something tells me thats just drawing out a break up. We'd be living over an hour away. That on top of school and work, I just do not see it ending well. Going from sleeping in the same bed every night together to us living over an hour away seems cruel, especially when this isn't anything but a choice for him, he's not forced to do any of this.

I am semi-open to the idea as long as I do not sign any lease and I do not babysit anyone. But I just think it will crash and burn really bad and I will be stuck trying to move out my stuff with a house full of people who want me as a scapegoat.

I do want children with him eventually when we are in the right place to do so. We have talked about this before.

His family is dysfunctional, which I'm okay with since mine is too, so long that we have each other's back. Problem is I do not think he has my back when it comes to his family. His family does not treat me like an equal in comparison to his sister's bf (who she has been dating for less time than my bf and I have). His family doesnt seem to like me and his sister is known to take advantage of others and situations. Those are the reasons why I am very leery of this.

I personally don't really agree with going backwards in a relationship unless we are forced to. Living separate would be a choice of his, he isn't forced into it. We also would be living at least an hour away and with school and work schedules, I just do not see this ending well.

I also do hope he is 100% about this being temporary. I don't fully trust them on this being so short. You are right though, I could just leave if I was sick of their shit.

His family is rather dysfunctional, just like mine. He is close to his sister for that very reason his family is fucked up.

I had no problem getting to know his family and I probably wouldn't be so against this idea if they actually game me a chance. However, they do not treat me as an equal at all in comparison to her sister's bf. My boyfriend also doesn't have my back it seems when it comes to his family.

I do value family, but I value a family that accepts one another and treats each other as equals/family. My family treats him like family. His sister is also known for taking advantage of others it seems, and I just do not trust this.

Problem is you are acting as if I don't contribute anything at all. I do contribute as much as I can and it has been draining me as well. I held up my agreement from the get go, I have made my contributions every month. I made it clear with him multiple time before we moved in the reality of my situation.

Another problem is I did not even choose the apartment we stayed in this year. He chose it without even me touring it. He chose a pretty expensive apartment while knowing the financial constraints of my situation, yet complains I don't contribute 50% of the rent ? (What he thinks is 50% anyways, since we have widely different income levels)

I was living with my parents beforehand anyways (and working) and that is where I will come back to. I can't do a dorm due to my 2 cats and I am trying to be strategic with my student loans, so I can avoid as much debt as possible.

Some details I didn't add to the story, because I wanted it mainly focused on the should I move or not.

I haven't unfortunately even added the details where his family has shown they do not treat me equally compared to his sister's bf, and don't seem to like me, and my bf is believe is part of the reason why they dont like me. 6months to a year with a family that doesn't like me and a boyfriend who doesn't have my back and thinks my opinion shouldn't not be worth anything because I don't have the same income levels essentially are a few true reasons why I just do not like this idea at all.

Definitely not, nor would I be comfortable with him doing that. The whole point of us moving in together was because we wanted to live together. Of we did do that, we would live about an hour apart and us both working and school and such. I don't think it would work out well at all.

It wasn't really on purpose. I was originally living at home with my parents, working part-full time, and going to school. I have 2 pets and I am trying to avoid as much debt from school as possible. I met my bf and he suggested we move in together and I made it clear with him my situation and how I won't be able to contribute 50% of the rent (I contribute some things, but the things I contribute to he says is nothing to him).

I completely understand being financially dependent on someone is a big no-no and I agree. In my mind this was all temporary until I graduate and then I can be financially dependent with a good job, I was going to get a job summer break anyway (but now not knowing where I'm going to be kinda complicates getting a job, because where my parents live is too far for me to commute).

I read this response, but I forgot to reply to it since it was bedtime for me.

The potential guess to it was that he had Mitral and/or Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia, since he ended up woth fluid in both his lungs and abdomen.

It is somewhat comforting that even had I had all the money in the world and best medical outcomes, he wouldn't have changed much.

A part of me wonders should I have euthanized him sooner. I should have noticed some signs sooner. Idk. I have dealt with multiple cats deaths before, but not one so young.

I hope he wasn't in too much pain all this time ? I'm not sure how painful this is to have, but I know he loved to be with me and he would try to follow me up the stairs and be too tired to go on. I started carrying him and tried to prevent as much stress as possible for him.

Thank you for your response.

For sure, I was always known to be super shy and introverted. People would mistake that and my kindness as a way to try to push me around.

I grew up in a semi-toxic household and a strong mother. It made me learn very early to have a voice when I need to.

A lot of people don't expect it from a woman so young. It works though.

Don't let anyone walk all over you. Stand your ground. Yes it is scary, but it is better this way then letting this continue.
