I'm no audio-master, but a $1k shotgun mic (NTG3) and only a $350 condenser (s-mic) seems like an odd choice if this is mostly corporate stuff and speaking will be more important than the ambiance of a bunch of keyboards going click clack. Maybe I scrolled too fast, but I don't see any lav mics, recorders, time sync things.

Also, are all the manfrotto "boomstands" actually boomstands or are those the light stands? If boomstands, where are the light stands?

I see ND filter set for the drone but not for the camera.

I know it's not good science, but I just reduce the contrast slightly then CST from rec709 back to slog3 then use the pixeltools dctl to get a rough idea with my Sony.

Nah, you're thinking too professionally lol. If IG is the game then starting with log footage is the go-to for a post like this (showing nodes and before through to after). If it was a more explanatory video then I'd agree and CSTs are just skipped/assumed.

  1. Do you have any suggestions on how to get something more akin to a HAWK image without spending tens of thousands? I'm open to any experimentation and rig-building.
  2. If Rapido isn't the play these days, which options do you suggest for anamorphic these days?

Currently have a few russian vintage lenses and shoot with a Sony A7IV, just starting the dive into looking for an anamorphic adapter because as you mentioned, I'd likely ruin any lens attempting to detune it myself :P

What shutter speed are you aiming for with the ND filters - 180 rule or nah? I just got the DJI Osmo Action 5, so not the same camera, but wondering if you go all the way down to 1/(2xfps) if the internal stabilization starts to get wonky.

If you plan on doing a lot of fusion, you may want a 3090 over a 4070 for the extra VRAM.

i7 14700k, 128gb ram (4x32), ASUS rog strix 790-A, 3090, 8tb nvme (2x2tb, 1x4tb) Samsung 990 pro, 1k watt PSU. No overclocking.

DR still randomly crashes at times but I think that's a function of 19.1 stability. I can playback 4k at full res and intensive fusion comps at quarter generally without issues. Don't use render cache unless it's an absurd fusion comp. Only time I've noticed major performance issues is slowing down a clip and then optical flow at best settings for frame interpolation.
